Patriot's Pointe
November 27 - December 1 Vol. 2 Edition 17

Happy Sunday Patriot Families!
Greetings Patriot Families,
I hope everyone enjoyed some much needed time off and had a restful and relaxing Thanksgiving break. As students return to school tomorrow, they will begin preparing for the end of the first semester. Most of our teachers opted to give students project based learning activities over the break and we need your partnership to ensure that these learning tasks are submitted on time and represent quality work. This Saturday, December 2nd, we will host our Saturday Success program where students will have an opportunity to submit missing assignments, retake assessments, or earn a higher grade on a passing assignment for work within the current unit of study. In order for students to take advantage of this opportunity, students must conference with their teacher about this opportunity and your child's teacher will sign up your student. The flyer below outlines the details of this program and we are hoping that everyone will take advantage of this program.
Exam exemptions are just around the corner and we will send out detailed information regarding how your child can take advantage of the exemption opportunities provided by the Fayette County School System. Please note that attendance will be a determining factor for exam exemptions this year and students cannot exempt any EOC course (Biology, Algebra Concepts and Connections, U.S. History, or American Literature), and AP course or and IB course.
The time is now for seniors to apply to college and there is still one week left where students can apply to college for free. Our counselors are available this week to any senior student who would like to take advantage of the National Apply to College program. Additionally, as college acceptances begin to come in for your student, please upload a copy of those letters into Naviance so that we can place your senior on our Senior Wall along with a list of their collegiate, military, and tech school offerings.
This week our JV and Varsity Basketball teams will be on the road against McIntosh and Fayette Co. High. Please make plans to come out and support our Patriots as they play schools within our district. Our swim season has begun as well and you can see our Swim team in action this Friday at the Kedron Aquatics Center at 5pm.
We are excited to support our students in their academic endeavors while providing them with a competitive advantage!

The road to college acceptance comes with a lot of uncertainties. Doorway to College can help reduce your young scholar's anxiety about preparing for college entrance exams and applying to college. Our mission is to help students like yours make a successful transition from high school to higher education.
Doorway to College, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit, evolved from a 30-year history of serving college-bound high school students. Doorway to College Foundation is continuing the work of the former ZAPS Learning Company, which was also dedicated to providing quality test prep to students who can't afford hundreds of dollars — or more — to raise their scores.
Student Parking passes are available all year for $60 and should be displayed in the bottom corner of the driver's side windshield.

The Campus Parent portal is your source for student and family records, including household and individual contact information, attendance, school-based fees, academic planning (high school), forms, and report cards. The Parent portal also provides access to the GaDOE SLDS Portal. Please set up the parent Infinite Campus account first. The same username will be shared with Schoology to set up your parent account in Schoology. Because each login reflects the person associated with the username, it is recommended that a separate account is created for each parent.
- Usernames can be comprised of letters, numbers, the underscore, and dash.
- Please refrain from creating a username that is all numbers, as that will interfere with student data here in our district.
- After completing the setup of your parent portal account, please allow 24 hours for your new account information to be sent to Schoology before attempting to log into your Schoology parent account.
