NBJH Weekly Update 09/29/23
September 29, 2023
Principal's Message
As we approach these final days of September, it's a good time to reflect on the past several weeks as the calendar page flips to the month of October. The early part of the school year focused on establishing routines and expectations, while the last few weeks have allowed us to build upon the foundation we've established. Hopefully we're now at the point where our classrooms, music ensembles and sports teams are more cohesive and the growth is more evident. Yet we also acknowledge that this may be the time of year when the academic responsibilities and extracurricular commitments can seem stressful, so we encourage all of our families to check in with their child to see if they need additional support.
We hope our 6th graders who attended Outdoor Ed had an absolute blast. We're excited to see them upon their return...although it was MUCH quieter in the building the past few days. While they were canoeing and ziplining and singing their X-Block songs, our 7th and 8th grade students were learning about the impacts of globalization, solving equations with variables on both sides, and engaging in reader's theater. I guess we'll let them decide who had a better week! :-)
Enjoy the weekend...
