Lessons About Native American Tribes
North second grade learned about Native American tribes last week. They made shakers, faux bison hides and learned about the three sisters (corn, beans, squash). Dr. Kevin Patterson, retired Ozark superintendent, shared the language, dances and special occasions of the Cherokee Nation. He also brought scrapers, spearheads and arrowheads that were found on his family's farm.
'Tis the Season for Giving
OHS FCCLA students met at Cash Saver this week for a club activity to purchase food for Least of These food pantry. Students shopped in teams and had to make the alloted money given to them go as far as possible. So, they practiced their consumer skills and did something great for our community at the same time. What a great way to practice their Family, Career and Community leadership skills.
