We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break. We are in the homestretch as we approach break and the halfway point to the school year. Please check out the latest including the completion of our successful WASC visit along with the first meeting of the FSU! This week's background is from the final presentation from our WASC high school visit. We will have final notification in the coming weeks, but the committee was very impressed and had rave reviews for the staff, students, and families along with the school overall. Big week for our high school as we had our WASC Accreditation Visit. All high schools are required to go through accreditation and it is something that requires ongoing preparation and culminates in a comprehensive report of the findings for the school. It's a powerful and time-consuming process that drives the high school's goals and focus. We had a great 3-day visit and appreciate the help and support from all of the parents and students that were able to attend focus group meetings along with the staff, district cabinet, and board members. Some of the strengths that were noted include:

• School culture
• Dual Enrollment Program
• Advisory Program and Teachers
• Teacher Accessibility and Communication

Moving forward, some areas of focus will be:

• Increasing the variety of "g" electives offered at TC
• Revisit and align our Schoolwide Learner Outcomes
• Continue to refine and evaluate our MTSS Re-Engagement Plan

Picture Day was on Thursday and we had a great turnout. If you would like to view and/or order pictures from LifeTouch, the school ID is EVTKBB9SX. In case you missed picture day, we are working with one of our families to possibly offer an outdoor make-up date for students. Stay tuned for more information.

FSU or Familial Support University (FSU) had their first meeting on Thursday. It was a huge success and kudos to Mrs. Maeda and our two mental health professionalsYenyfer Bullock and Claire Skomsvold for a great kickoff. If you missed the first class, not a problem, there are 6 more to go. The next meeting is FSU is Wednesday, January 19 on Zoom from 6-7 pm. Please check out the flyer and link to register today. Here’s your PTA Roundup for the week.

High School Happenings Mrs. Romberger recently hosted a virtual field trip to the Museum of Latin American Art. It was a huge hit. PTA received thanks from the students who are looking forward to visiting in person. Thanks to your support for making this virtual trip possible.

It’s been a blessing to meet more interested Tustin Connect families who have brought forward their support, ideas, and enthusiasm. That’s what PTA is! TUSD is partnering up with OCDE to provide you with a free informational workshop regarding VAPING. It is a great opportunity for you to learn about vaping, prevention, and mental health awareness.
