Creek Speak
Back to School 2023 Edition
Welcome to The Creek!
Dear Mayde Creek High School Parents/Guardians,
Welcome back to another exciting school year at The Creek! I am honored to serve this school community as principal. It has been an exciting summer as our students have competed, performed, and served others all over our local community, our state, and our country! Alongside them, our incredible Staffulty has spent many hours this summer leading and learning in professional development, coaching, directing, and sponsoring our student activities, and planning for an exciting 23-24 school year! Your student truly is in GREAT hands here at Mayde Creek High School.
Creek Speak is our community newsletter and it will be sent out every Sunday at 3:00 via email and our class Remind accounts. We will also share it on our social media platforms. Located in this edition of Creek Speak you will find information on how to sign up for class Reminds along with all of our social media information. We encourage all parents and students to sign up for their class Reminds as this is a GREAT way to stay connected with everything happening at MCHS.
Also be sure to take note of the important dates coming up that offer you an opportunity to connect with our campus. If you have an incoming freshman, please be sure to use the link below to sign up for Ram Camp. This is an opportunity you do not want them to miss! We have over 100 upperclassmen leaders that have been preparing since April to offer them a high energy, student led orientation experience that introduces them to the culture of Mayde Creek High School and what it means to be a Ram. While we will accept walk up registration, we cannot guarantee t-shirts or schedules to those that have not completed online registration by August 9th. There will also be a freshman parent meeting at 11:30 on this date as well. For all families, please take note of our Fall Open House and Town Pep Rally dates as those are events that you don't want to miss!
A few other action items of note:
- Power School Annual Updates are due by the first day of school
- Dress Code Updates are noted in this newsletter - be sure to take a look before back to school shopping
- Discipline Management Plan Update in regards to vaping are noted in this newsletter
- Updated Attendance and Tardy Requirements in Exam Exemption Policy
In addition, I will be looking for several parents to serve on our Campus Advisory Team this year as we expand this group. We will be working throughout the year on identifying needs and setting goals and plans of improvement towards those needs. This is an excellent opportunity to be involved and partner with us. We will meet 4 times per year. Look out for an email this week with more information on how to get involved.
Our PTSA is also looking for members as we work to increase our parent involvement in this group as well. There are many ways to be involved once you join PTSA depending on how much time you have to volunteer. Volunteering is an option for all of us even if you don't have the physical time to volunteer during school hours so please consider joining this very important group.
If your student is involved in extra-curricular activities, stay on the lookout for opportunities to join and serve in those organization specific booster clubs as well. There are many man hours involved in many of these organizations and we are so thankful for our booster volunteers as our coaches, directors, and sponsors could not do it without you.
I am looking forward to partnering with each of you in your student's success. Please don't hesitate to reach out if I can be of assistance.
With Ram PRIDE!
Lizzie Herring
MCHS Principal

It is my honor to serve as the Associate Principal of Mayde Creek High School. Raised in Missouri City, Texas, and a proud alum of Fort Bend ISD (Dulles High), I received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Northern Iowa University then returned home to earn a master's degree in education administration from Houston Baptist University. I was a teacher for 10 years before becoming an Administrator where I've served as both an Assistant Principal and Associate Principal in the Houston area. My service to Mayde Creek High School is dedicated to promoting excellence and creating a safe and supportive environment for students, staff, and families.
