Leadership Message
As teachers put together Evidence of Learning portfolios for students we can see and celebrate all that students have learned to this point in our school year. We believe that it is important for our students to be connected to school through positive relationships and a strong sense of community where every student can learn and be successful. Our teachers and staff are committed to providing all students with an appropriate and challenging educational experience in a respectful environment that fosters learning and growth.
The most crucial part of students' success in school is attendance. As a parent or guardian it is imperative for students that you assist them in maintaining an attitude that “Every Day Counts.” It is essential that students are attending school ready to learn each and every day. Parents/Guardians play the most important roles in a student's success and I invite you to collaborate with us in your students' education. We understand that this can be difficult during COVID times and if you are experiencing any difficulties please reach out to the school. Your child’s learning success is our priority and when your child attends school they are in a learning environment where they can thrive.
We are looking forward to our Celebration of Learning!
Blessings,
Mrs. Cathy Hinger

St Luke is proud to once again be hosting a Scholastic Book Fair!! Things will work a little different this year, as the Book Fair will be a hybrid one. What does that mean you ask?? Well, the students will be able to look and purchase from the fair in the library, while you as parents, get to shop from the comfort of your own homes.
Covid rules will be in place, as each class with have a turn to come down and make purchases. Purchases of course will take place only if child has permission from parents. Money should be placed in baggies, marked clearly with their name and amount given, and handed to their teacher for safekeeping. We will also accept debit cards from the older students, and staff.
The Book Fair will also be available online. The link is listed below, and will be live for the whole week, starting Nov 1st until the 7th. (This link will not be open until Nov 1st.) All purchases will be shipped pre packaged to the school, best part of that is its FREE SHIPPING! A great way to shop for Christmas, as packages are sealed and books are not visible.
Students will be given a wish list to fill out during Book Fair viewing, that they can bring home and share their favorite finds with you!
The Book Fair will start on November 2nd and run until November 4th at St Luke’s in the library.
The online Fair will run Nov 1st – Nov 7th, and the link for our school is

We hope you will enjoy this new version of our Book Fair, and remember that all purchases will help add resources and new books to our library, while also supporting our student’s love of reading!

HALLOWEEN FUN!
Halloween is this Friday! A couple of reminders for our Halloween Fun.
Students are invited to come to school in their costumes on Halloween.
Students who are dressing up are asked to keep costumes school appropriate and leave weapons at home. Being proactive can help all of us to avoid uncomfortable situations at school and can help us ensure that Halloween is a time where all students feel safe and honoured.
Masks will still need to be worn so please take this into consideration when planning your child’s costumes.
Our leadership students are busy preparing Halloween activities for students during the afternoon on Friday, October 29th.
As part of our healthy school focus we ask families to refrain from sending any food items.
The school will be putting together a special Nutritional Halloween snack which will be handed out to all students.
Our Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 4 students will be participating in a virtual Halloween costume party to show their spooktacular costumes.
