Principal Weekly Update
2023-2024
September 10, 2023
Parents and Families,
We have had a great opening to the school year. As you are probably aware, there have been a number of schools in the county that have had to release school early or cancel school due to lack of air conditioning. Rolesville High School has had a few classrooms that have been warmer than normal, but we are working with maintenance to fix the issue. Some classes have moved into the commons areas to hold classes. Today was much cooler in the building.
Athletics:
There will be a girls and boys wrestling interest meeting on September 13th directly after school in room 1908. I am excited to announce that the 2023-2024 school year will be the inaugural season of NCHSAA sanctioned girls wrestling!
PSAT/NMSQT:
This test is being offered at Rolesville High School on October 19th. Any 9th - 11th grade student can sign up and pay to take this test.
The PSAT is a standardized, multiple-choice test that includes three sections: critical thinking, mathematics, and writing. The test provides practice for the SAT and offers insight for advising and counseling students. The cost of the test is $15.30, and students can sign up by clicking this link. WCPSS also will allow students in the 11th grade with a 4.375 GPA or high to take the test for free (these students do not have to sign up). A letter will be sent home with your 11th grade student if they qualify. Please email cmyslinski@wcpss.net if you have further questions.
Seniors!!!
Administration met with the Seniors today prior to them partaking in the Sr. Breakfast. We discussed all of the important dates that they need to know for their senior year. The Senior Parent Meeting will be on September 12
Student Dress Code:
Please remind students that the dress code is to be followed daily. Students should not wear any clothing items that are excessively short or revealing of any private areas. No headgear or sun glasses should be worn in the building.
Students will be asked to correct the problem if they are violating the dress code. Please see the Parent Presentation below that contains other student expectations.
