Meet Ms. Lettiere Covington's new Title I Resource Teacher! Lmar, her news anchor, asked some amazing questions!

Last year was lots of fun, so this year will be the 2nd annual Spooktacular celebration. This will be held on Saturday, October 23 at OLHMS.

Please see the attached fliers below for information on the event, how to make donations, and how to sign up for one of the displays! All of the participation and donations made last year a great success and looking forward to this year!

NWEA MAP score reports have been posted to your Skyward Family Access account. Please take some time to celebrate your child’s accomplishments and encourage them to keep working hard!

You can find an official copy of your child’s MAP Growth Report under the “Portfolio” tab. Simply LOGIN to SkywardFamily Access, then click PORTFOLIO > LATEST NWEA MAP REPORT

Our first PBIS Celebration will be taking place this Friday. We will be having our 3rd Annual Reading Celebration. Classes will be outdoors from 2:00 P.M. to 3:00 P.M. and be participating in either independent reading, group reading or some combination of both. Students can feel free to bring a towel or blanket with them as well. We will also have freeze pops for students so if you'd want your child to participate, please fill out the permission slip from your child's teacher.

Our 'Change Wars' is in its final week! A reminder that students can bring in any extra or spare change to school and each classroom will have their own collection container. The class that collects the most change by September 24th will win a pizza party lunch!

Save the Date! Our Fall Picture Day will be taking place on Friday, September 24th!

Also note that we do have a Picture Day Re-Take day scheduled for Thursday, November 4th.

Please refer to these reminders on expectations during Pick-Up and Drop-Off. These reminders are specifically in regards to parking during these times.

• Double parking on 52nd Avenue (or any street around Covington) is never allowed
• Parking or stopping on the school-side of the street on 52nd Avenue is never allowed
• There are designated crossing areas on 52nd Avenue and should use them when crossing the street

These expectations are to ensure the safety of our students and families and are expectations of Covington Elementary School and Oak Lawn.
