DVE Food Drive
Sumner High School Leadership kids have set up a Food Drive at our school for the week of October 24th! If you are able to bring in Canned/Non-perishable food, as well as self-care items, please bring them to your classroom teacher! The winning classroom will get a Crumbl Cookie Party on Halloween!
Attendance Counts!
A district-wide focus is following a state-wide emphasis on attendance. This means we'll be celebrating good attendance and working with families to help support those students who are having difficulty getting to school.
- Please call the office anytime your student misses school. Even if it is after-hours you can call the office at 253-891-4600 and leave a detailed message.
- Students who have excessive absences (both excused and/or unexcused) will be getting letters at home with recommended next steps. Thank you for your partnership!
5th grade Homecoming Parade Participation!
Our 5th grade Dolphins have been invited to join the Sumner High School Parade to represent our school. 5th graders will be bringing home permission slips this week for you to fill out in order for them to participate.
Amazing Chemistry Show Assembly- 10/31
Thanks to the generous donation from the Sumner Family Church, we are able to hold a full school assembly on Monday, October 31st. The AMAZING CHEMISTRY SHOW is coming to Daffodil from 2-3pm. We are excited to explore with fire, explosions and foam!
Dressing up on Halloween
Monday, October 31st we will be celebrating Halloween @ DVE. Students are allowed to wear costumes to school OR dress in their favorite fall colors. As with any dress up day, it is completely optional. If your child wears a costume to school, please help us with the following details:
- No costume face pieces. (Face paint or special effect makeup is ok, EXCEPT please no blood or gore).
- No hand held accessories (swords, flashlights, wands, etc)
Playground Locked
To ensure student safety, we will be making sure all playground gates remain locked until student dismissal. Thanks for understanding!
Parent Drop-OFF
Just a reminder- we open our doors at 8:10 am. Please do not drop off students before that time. Drop-off car line is in the loop in front of our school. Those parents parking and dropping their students off, please use appropriate sidewalks/crosswalks.
Daffodil St is not a car drop-off location. We have seen students getting dropped off on Daffodil St and run across the street in-between the buses! Please help your child stay safe and use the crosswalk!
Cold and Flu Season
With school starting, and the weather starting to turn cold, our students are coming to school with the sniffles! Sending your child with kleenex would be super helpful and any donations would be helpful!
Remember to bring your WATER BOTTLE to school!
Please send a reusable water-bottle with your student. It is very important for your students to stay hydrated throughout the day.
