December 2nd
Happy Friday!
Welcome back mustang families! I hope that you enjoyed your holiday break with your family members and loved ones. This past week, our Beta members competed at the Beta Convention in Savannah, Georgia. I am pleased to share that our students walked away with (5) awards! I am so proud of our students! Special shout out to our club sponsors and our parents for your support!
Student's 13.5-week progress report will post on Friday, November 18th just as we departed for Thanksgiving break. If you haven't already done so, please log into your Parent Portal to monitor your child's academic performance. If you have questions or concerns pertaining your child grades or progress, please contact his/her teacher immediately.
Please be reminded that December 6th is a Remote Learning Day in Fulton County Schools due to a statewide run-off election. The day originally was slated to be an in-person school day. A majority of Fulton County schools serve as polling sites, and this decision will keep students and staff safer. Since the run-off election is expected to draw high voter turnout, there will be a large number of outside visitors to our campuses. The additional traffic can also create campus congestion with packed parking lots, which can affect buses and car rider lanes. All teachers will communicate the remote learning day assignments to students at Cliftondale on December 5th.
Holiday parties are coming soon! Please expect a communication from your child's teacher this week. As we approach the upcoming holidays, it important to remind parents and families that candy, desserts, baked goods (store bought/homemade), or any other edible items are not to be sold or distributed at school or on the bus unless approved in advance by school administration. Per our Student Code of Conduct, students who do not adhere to this expectation are subject to disciplinary action for violation 7A: Failure to Follow Rules and all candy or food items will be confiscated. Please discuss this expectation and possible consequences with your student(s) as this will be taken very seriously. This is due to recent national and state reports about students sharing edible items and synthetic medications with other students that contain very harmful substances.
Please know that taking this measure will help us maintain a safe environment for all students. You can help us protect your student(s) by requesting that they not eat anything given to them by another person, anything that they have not brought from your home or anything not in its original sealed package.
Lastly, we will not have Mom's on the Move or Dad's on Duty for December. See you in January!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reach out at any time cantya@fultonschools.org.
Kind Regards,
Principal Canty
