PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Greetings Titans,
I hope everyone had a great first week! Thank you to Ms. Erskine-Wilson and all who helped to make Friday at Elkins Pointe memorable and fun with the PBIS Pep Rally. I could tell students, teachers, and staff left school on a high note!
Elkins Pointe is excited to announce that we have brought Chorus back as a Connections music option. Mrs. Donna Fallis will teach Chorus in periods 1, 2, and 3. If you would like your child to sing with the Chorus, please email fallis@fultonschools.org, and Mrs. Fallis will arrange for a schedule change.
On Monday, students will prepare to get their laptops back by learning how to take care of their devices. Parents, please sign the Device User Agreement in Infinite Campus. Click HERE for the instructions. The device rollout is planned to begin on Tuesday. Please ensure your child has a messenger or backpack laptop carrying bag.
Assistant Principal, Ms. Ida Ward, will host a Parent Meeting for 8th-Grade parents to discuss the Georgia Studies Trip. The "Journey Through Georgia" meeting will be on Tuesday, August 16th, in-person at Elkins Pointe Middle School. Parents will be able to hear how the trip connects to the 8th grade Social Studies curriculum and be able to ask questions about the itinerary and more!
We are keeping the momentum going with AVID lessons during WINN. Students will be setting up their AVID Titan Binders and learning about their teachers’ college journey. The WINN themes of the week will be laptop care and organization!
Please donate and join the Elkins Pointe PTSA by clicking HERE. PTSA will be working to bring back International Night and can only do so with your support! Thank you to all the parents, students, and teachers who "Teamed Up with the Titans" by donating to the annual campaign and joining PTSA.
Let's have a wonderful week, and thanks for all you do!

The Georgia Department of Education’s (GaDOE) Statewide Longitudinal Data System (SLDS) is designed to help schools, and teachers make data-driven decisions to improve student learning.
Parents can use the data answer the following questions:
How is my child doing in math and reading?
Is my child in the proper amount of rigor?
What is my child’s Lexile Reading Level?
Is my child growing academically? How do they compare to other students?
Should my child be placed in on-level, advanced, accelerated classes in middle school or honors, or an AP class in high school?
SCHOOL PROCEDURES:
MIDDLE SCHOOL DAY
ARRIVAL TO THE BUILDING: Students may enter the building at 8:25 am. There is no supervision prior to opening a building.
BELL SCHEDULE: https://bit.ly/3A3mOar
BREAKFAST & LUNCH: They will go to the cafeteria if they want breakfast (must have money on my payments plus account, bring cash or be eligible for free lunch via an approved application). To complete the Free & Reduced Meals application for the 2022-2023 school year, go to https://www.nlappscloud.com/.
FIRST PERIOD: 1st period begins at 8:55. Staff will have lists of 1st-period classes for all students and will make sure every student knows where to go.
DISMISSAL: Dismissal begins at 4:05. Car riders, bicyclists, and walkers are dismissed first. Bus riders are dismissed when buses arrive (approximately at 4:10 pm)
EARLY CHECK-OUT: Anytime a parent or guardian comes to the office to pick your child up, you must show an ID (even if the front office staff knows you by name, and you presented your ID the day before.) To pick up your child, you must be listed in Infinite Campus as the parent/guardian or as an adult approved to pick up the student. NOTE: No Check-Out after 3:30 pm.
TRANSPORTATION
CARPOOL: All students are dropped off in the morning in the front carpool. In the afternoon, the carpool is divided into 6th-grade and 7th-grade in the front of the building, and 8th-grade FastPass in the Employee Lot (side of the building). Please follow the directions of staff outside and pull up where you are asked before allowing your child to get in your car. Be patient 😊 and be kind. Students are not allowed to walk to the parking lot so please remain in your car and stay in the carpool lane. Please carpool with a neighbor if you can! All students must be picked up by 4:30 pm.
BUSES: Typically leave our school by 4:20 p.m. However, during the first few weeks of school, buses often run late. There is a shortage of bus drivers this year which may mean the routes are a little longer. Keep this in mind for when your child may arrive home and pack an extra snack for your child to eat at the end of the day.
