6-8 Awards Ceremony

Select students have been nominated for team and department awards to celebrate their success and effort this school year. Students came home with letters to invite them to this event this week and parents received personal invitations via email.

Teams will also celebrate students during the school day the last days of school with their peers. 8th grade students will participate in our DARE graduation as well during our school day on 5/27. We look forward to celebrating a successful school year with all of our students.

Chromebooks Over the Summer

Students WIll Be Keeping Their District Chromebook This Summer

Students in grades 3-8 will be keeping their Chromebooks over the summer break. Students will be responsible for keeping the Chromebooks and their cases in working order for use next year.
Current 8th grade students will be given their new device prior to the last day of school

If your student does experience any issues with their Chromebook over the summer, please click here or visit bit.ly/scssummertechticket to submit a Tech Ticket. A Tech Department member will contact you within two business days to assist. If your student is leaving the district over the summer, they will need to turn in their Chromebook on the last day of school. Please click here or visit bit.ly/2022scsexit to submit your student’s name to inform our department to collect the Chromebook.

Spring Choir Concert

Tuesday May 24th @ SMS Auditorium

6pm and 7pm

6th grade choir students should arrive by 5:45pm and report directly to the back of the auditorium. They will perform 2nd, following the Showchoir. The Showchoir will perform 1st.
There is a 7pm portion of the concert, so we ask that 6th grade families leave the auditorium in a timely manner so other 7th and 8th grade families can come in.
7th and 8th grade choir students should arrive by 6:45pm and report directly to the back of the auditorium. They will perform 2nd and 3rd, following the Showchoir. Again, the Showchoir will perform 1st.
7th grade students will return to their seats after performing to watch the 8th grade choir perform.
Students should wear their choir shirt with black bottoms and clean shoes.

Media Center Updates

All SMS library books are due Monday, May 16, and any students missing a book will be charged beginning Tuesday, May 17. Please remind your students to turn their books in.

Mustang Mentors and 5th Grade Visits

Big thank you to our Mustang Mentors for touring incoming 5th graders this past week. Students were able to see SMS in action, walking the halls with peers and upper-classmen as well as seeing classrooms and staff! Thank you to our mentors and our elementary buildings for organizing this opportunity for our students!

2022-23 Physical Form OHSAA: All athletes must have a valid physical form on file. Athletes may not participate in practice or tryouts without it. Physicals are good for 13 months from the previous physician’s visit. Take this form with you for the doctor to fill out. It is highly recommended to have the physical performed in early summer. Dr. offices get booked up prior to the fall sports season.
Final Forms Registration Instructions: Students must be fully registered into Final Forms before participating in practices or tryouts.
Participation/Trainer Fee: $110 Total. $100 participation/ $10 trainer fee is required. The fee can be paid via Final Forms or paid in person at the Treasurer's or SMS Office.

Last Day of School Lunch 5/27

Please prepare to pack a lunch on May 27th for the last day of school. A small amount of lunches will be prepared by our cafeteria staff for students who may need a provided lunch.
