MCES WEEKLY TOP FIVE FOR PARENTS
UPDATES FOR THE WEEK OF OCTOBER 11
A Message from the Admin Team
Greetings and Happy Friday, Montclair Families,
The administration team at Montclair Elementary would like to take the time to remind you of some important information and inform you about some essential resources from Cumberland CountySchools.
Every child enrolled at Montclair Elementary School will receive a federal card on October 19, 2021. For CCs to receive impact Aid basic support funding, the Federal government requires CCS to collect information from parents and guardians after the school year. Parents are expected to fill out this survey and return them to the school. The amount of impact Aid CCS receives is determined by a formula that includes the number of students who have a parent or guardian on active duty in the military; live in Federal low-income housing or on the federally owned property; or live with a parent or guardian who works on Federal property.
Cumberland County Schools will be observing an Independent Remote Learning Day for students and a Workday for teachers on Monday, October 18. During this time, students will have the opportunity to work on classroom assignments via CCS Canvas. Parent with questions about assignment to be complete will need to contact your child's homeroom teacher.
Cumberland County Schools have adopted a new behavioral intervention tracker that teachers and staff members will utilize. Parents will also have ScholarConnect, a web portal for parents of students in schools with the ScholarChip safety and operations system. The portal allows parents to track and manage various aspects of their student's needs, including viewing attendance, alerts, and behavioral events. To register, click on the New Account link, select the appropriate school from the School drop-down menu and follow the registration instructions. You will need to have the student's school ID number, date of birth, and zip code for the registration process. Only one account is required if you have multiple students in the district. The registration link is listed below.
On Friday, October 22, Report Cards will go home. Parents will also have access to students' grades through Powerschool. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns, please reach out to your child's teacher during school hours.
The staff at Montclair Elementary are dedicated to the safety of students, the instructional practice to ensure every child has success and a cohesive partnership with all of our stakeholders. Thank you so much for your time as we look forward to a year and rebuilding, refocusing, and reassuring all stakeholders on being Montclair Strong. If you have any questions, comments, or concerns for administrators, please feel free to email us, use Classdojo or contact us in our Facebook group.
