Letter from the Principal
Greetings PPA students, families, and community,
Welcome to the last month of the year. As we focus on ending the 2023 year with a smile on our faces. Take time to review emails for upcoming events.
*We are asking students that drive to continue to park in student parking and PLEASE be mindful of parking lot rules: reduce speed, come in and out through the Commercial exit, and be mindful of pedestrians.
*Students should be completing work to support academic growth and credit attainment.
*Families will begin receiving phone calls from the Principal to discuss second semester plans.
I look forward to working with you this school year in support of your scholar's academic journey!!
Take care,
Ms. Sconiers

Math in the Trades
We are working with Noah, our HVAC employee of the school district. Students are learning math skills that are relevant to a trades job they may be interested in pursuing.
The Science of Baking:
Students have spent time going over the chemistry and physics behind baked goods. Looking at how heat transfers from a pan to the food, how convection currents heat a cake, and how chemical and physical reactions are always present in baking! Students also looked at the scientific process and experimented with chocolate chip cookies. We will continue to look at the science behind our favorite treats in order to be the best bakers we can be!
War Literature:
Students have spent the last several weeks reading texts that deal with war and conflict throughout the world. Specifically we have read several chapters from Tim O’Brien’s The Things They Carried and discussed the historical impact of the Vietnam War. Students also read poems from servicemembers and civilians impacted by wars throughout the world and history.
GEDO2 Happenings
We have a great group of students this year who are all ready to take on the GED tests! We are starting to dive into test prep, and we already have a lot of passed GED tests!
