Viking Family,

When I see a beautifully painted sky, I always think look at God showing off! Before I pulled into our parking lot, I snapped this picture because it was such a pretty shot of a gorgeous sunrise over such a special place. This is our school!

As we approach the end of this semester, we reflect on the journey your children have taken over the past months. Together, we’ve navigated challenges, celebrated many successes, and grown as a community of learners. I personally have learned so much this semester!

It reminds me of the timeless words from “Closing Time” by Semisonic:

“Every new beginning comes from some other beginning’s end.”

While the semester’s conclusion marks the end of one chapter, it also signals the start of new opportunities, fresh challenges, and more moments to shine. We are excited for the opportunities ahead and the continued success on the horizon.

Through the highs and lows, your children have displayed resilience, determination, and character. As we prepare for the final weeks of classes, projects, and exams, we encourage you to remind them of how far they’ve come and how capable they are of finishing strong.

Our teachers and staff remain committed to supporting your children academically and emotionally, ensuring they feel encouraged as they cross the finish line - to see it just beyond the horizon. Right now, that horizon is painted with beautiful holiday lights, time with family and friends, and another much needed break.

Thank you for being our partners in this journey. Your support at home is invaluable and makes all the difference.

As the semester ends, let’s celebrate all that has been accomplished and look forward with hope and excitement for what lies ahead.

With our new finals schedule, we want to set some clear expectations:

• **SENIORS WITH SENIOR RELEASE** are expected to come to school by 8:40. We have switched 1st and 5th period finals to the afternoon testing session to allow Seniors with Senior Release privileges to leave once they have completed their morning final.

• All students are expected to be at school for the duration of each day and for each class final, even if it isn't an "academic" class.

• Students are expected to stay in class under the direct supervision of their assigned teachers, including during Advisory. Students will not be allowed to go to other classrooms or the gym. Teachers will allow bathroom breaks with e-hall passes, as needed.

• Admin will be present in the hallways to maintain a quiet environment for the duration of testing. Students without an approved e-hall pass will be sent back to class.

• Dress code is still in FULL FORCE. Please don't wear hats or hoodies or pajamas. Dress comfortably but within the CLEARLY AND DAILY COMMUNICATED dress code expectations.

• A student may be signed out by their parents after they have completed both finals scheduled for that day. Students may not sign out between finals and return to school (i.e. no "lunch breaks").

• According to District policy, students are not allowed to take finals early for any reason.

• Semester Exams are worth 20% of a student's semester grade. Please encourage your students to study and prepare.

LVHS is proud to announce that Swayde Griffin officially signed with the University of Arizona Wildcats to play football for them after graduation. Viking Nation is SO PROUD of you, Swayde! Take that Viking Spirit with you and represent!

Henry Sisemore reached an incredible milestone by scoring his 1,000th point as an LVHS Viking! We know the hours of hard work that Henry put in to get to this point, and we are excited for a great Senior season. Great job #35!

Chloe Patton won 1st place in the Hill Country Singers Playbill Art Contest!

The Viking Band helped ring in the Holiday season during the Lago Vista Tree Lighting, delighting the crowd with their festive sound!

The LVISD December Band Concert will be held on Tuesday, December 17th at 6:30pm in the PAC. Band students from grades 6-12 will be performing a variety of holiday favorites! All are invited, and admission is free.

Lago Vista ISD is bursting with Viking pride as our UIL Academic and Athletics teams continue to achieve excellence at the highest level! From dominating on the field to shining in academics, our students prove year after year that hard work and determination lead to greatness. Here's to our amazing teams, coaches, and supporters for making history and making the Viking Nation proud!
