What's Happening in the Library!
You've seen the posters up around school - new books are here! This month we are highlighting cookbooks, yes cookbooks! We reached out to Chef Kim who had loads of good recommendations for student cookbooks and they're here for you. The MMA Library also has a magazine subscription to The Food Network Magazine available for student checkout. So, stop by and see what's cooking!
In addition to cookbooks, we have a big display of Spanish-language books on top of the library bookcases, as well as heaps of new graphic novels and manga. If you're searching for your next read, please consider picking up a book from our featured New Books section in the library. We encourage you to send Mrs. Eisen your favorite titles by Friday, March 11, so that we can grow this collection!
Author Talk on Lois Lowry
Ms. Heyward's 8th grade English honors class came to the library on January 13th for an author talk by Mrs. Eisen on Lois Lowry, two-time Newbery award winner for best book of the year, and author of their current book, The Giver. We took a deep dive into the author's life and learned of a lot of parallels in Lowry's life that are seen in her books' characters. This was a great collaboration. Thank you, Ms. Heyward!
Chinese New Year Celebration! Check out a book and receive a fortune cookie!
Between January 31-February 15 check out a book from the library and receive a fortune cookie!
