All Together Now! ---- Fall, 2021
We are RETURNing to the LMC,
to RECONNECT with each other,
& REIMAGINE ourselves!
While this "welcome back" comes a bit late, it is nevertheless heartfelt! Here we are at the beginning of our third month together, we hope that you have found your way back with ease and are settling into our new normal. When last we saw this year's Juniors, they were Freshmen, and our Seniors, Sophomores. It is our continuing pleasure and delight to meet the Sophomore class in person and to welcome the Freshmen, Class of 2025.
This year we have all adopted the motto "Return, Reconnect & Reimagine" which coincidentally has always been the mission of the LMC. Here is your invitation to return to the LMC, reconnect with us and each other, and reimagine yourself!
Your loyal librarians,
Mrs. Binns & Ms. Matz
Get to know your new librarian, Mrs. Christina Binns!
Hi there! I am Mrs. Binns, your new library media specialist at WOHS. I would like to thank everyone who has made my transition from Gregory to WOHS so warm and easy. I come to you after 11 years as an elementary library media specialist. Believe it or not, I am a West Orange alumna. I graduated from WOHS in 2004. I loved growing up in West Orange and attending the West Orange Public Schools. It is through my passion for books and love of West Orange that I wanted to teach in town. I have a spirited 15 month old named Owen and two sweet rescue cats, Tonks and Nagini. I love to paint, cook, crochet giant scarves, and (not surprisingly) read!
I've come to WOHS to work with Ms. Matz to continue to make the LMC the place to feel at home while you flex your life-long learning muscles (or build a robot, or learn to knit or find information on the Ottoman Empire . . . you name it).
Please stop by to say hello, it's going to be a great year!
Class of 2025 is IN THE HOUSE!
YOU HAVE TO BE IN IT TO WIN IT!
Designed by the LMC's 3D Maven, Mrs. Binns, this limited edition key chain is showing up on the backpacks of the lucky Freshmen who won it during their LMC Orientation!

through the lens of the small town in Wyoming where Matthew Shepard, a homosexual college student, was murdered. Many in the town appear to be tolerant of those who are different from them, but this tolerance means ignoring the differences rather than accepting them. Many in Laramie did not feel the murder of Matthew Shepard was a hate crime. As the play is performed it becomes evident that the ideas of the community did have a strong impact on the two men who murdered him. The play forces all of us to look at how communities substitute tolerance for acceptance of those that are different from them - and this does not allow people (in this case LGBTQ+ people) to live and thrive in a safe community for all.
