The 2022 season is on the downhill portion as Louisville 4H trap is approaching the Cornhusker State Shoot. The overall team has had a consistently good season. On April 9th, 44% of Louisville shooters shot above their weekly average, so there is awesome improvement! We have had 7 medals between the junior and senior teams throughout the season. Katie Hillabrand and Gage Scholting have both medaled from the 16's, while shooting a 25 straight in each of their medaling rounds. Carson Downs and Kyle Switzer have both medaled in their handicap yardages throughout the season. Corrine Kavanaugh has taken home 2 medals on the junior team, and consistently finds herself at the top of the scoresheet. There are two official meets before the state shoot, and with a heavy dose of practices, the entire trap team is looking to peak at the right time of the season.

Do you know what it takes to pick the best fruit and vegetables out at the grocery store? Or do you know what judges are looking for when they judge your plants at the county fair? Have you ever wondered, what plant is that!?! We are excited to offer the opportunity to learn these and other important horticulture skills through the Online Horticulture Contest. In celebration of the Week of the Volunteer, Nebraska 4-H will be hosting a live Lunch & Learn volunteer training series. Starting at noon CDT, each session will provide practical tips and information for volunteers and club leaders, followed by discussion and networking time. The Nebraska Department of Agriculture (NDA) is advising poultry owners to protect their flocks against avian influenza by closely monitoring their birds for signs of the disease and by maintaining strict biosecurity practices. Highly pathogenic avian influenza (HPAI) is very contagious and can cause severe illness and/or sudden death in domestic birds.

• To register for in person YQCA training, you will first need to enroll or reenroll in 4HOnline 2.0. Once your enrollment is approved, log into your account, click the "events" tab on the left side of the screen, then click "Register for an event" tab, then click on the date you wish to attend the training.
