Conroe High School Tiger Tracks
December 3, 2023
Hello Conroe Tiger Family,
We hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving Break! It was great to have our Tigers back on campus this week! It’s hard to believe that we only have two weeks until the Winter Break! We appreciate the effort that many of our students are displaying regarding being in attendance, getting to class on time, and focusing on academics. We have some who are struggling with this and it is evident in their grades and daily attendance. Parents if your student is one who is struggling with attendance, academics and/or behavior, please help us help them by encouraging them to finish the semester strong!
There are all types of events going on right now - from fine arts to athletics - we wish all of our Tigers success! We hope you are able to come show your support! Also, any student wanting to join us in 12 Days of Dress-Up Fun, the calendar is below! Here is some important information to help us end the First Semester successfully:
Student Safety Reminders
Students must wear a valid student ID that is affixed to clothing or a lanyard and be presented between shoulder level and student’s waist on the front of the body unless instructed otherwise by staff. Students without an ID will need to purchase a temporary ID for $1.00. Students must have the student ID on in order to purchase lunch, ride CISD Transportation, attend games and school events. If your child needs a new Student ID, they need to stop by the Tiger Den.
Students should NOT open an exterior door to allow anyone to come inside.
Students are not allowed to leave campus unless they are checked out through our Attendance Office by a parent/guardian.
Parents do not pick up or drop off your child on Hwy 105.
It is imperative that everyone follows these rules and expectations every day. Students who fail to follow our expectations will receive consequences.
December Staff Appreciation
Please help us celebrate our AMAZING CHS Staff at our Chili Cook-Off and Carnival! Use the links below to sign-up to provide prizes or desserts! Thank you in advance for your support!!!
UIL Eligibility
Students can gain or lose eligibility based on their second marking period scores. As your student is working on their semester average, remind them that it is the marking period that determines eligibility.
Semester Averages
Credits and Grade Point Averages are determined by semester averages. Your semester exams factor into that average. It is important that you do your best as these exams will help or hurt your semester average.
Fall Semester Exams
Seniors may exempt one-semester courses if they meet the requirements. There are no exemptions for our fall semester exams for underclassmen. Exams will not be given early. Any considerations to this may be presented to CHS Administration. If a student is absent on the day of the exam, then a student will earn a grade of a 0 for the semester exam. Students will have an opportunity to make missed exams up when we return from the Winter Break. Students will not be allowed to bring their backpacks beginning December 12th.
Proclamation 2024 Instructional Materials Adoption
Conroe ISD will review state adopted materials from publishers for Proclamation 2024 which includes Science K-12, Technology Applications K-8, Career and Technology courses, and Personal Financial Literacy and Economics. Community members may preview the materials both in person at the Conroe ISD Textbook Warehouse and online at the CISD Instructional Materials website between December 4, 2023 - January 12, 2024. Community members will be able to leave feedback about each of the materials through a survey linked on the website during the preview window. If you would like to view the materials up for adoption in person, please contact the Conroe ISD Textbook Warehouse at 936-709-7681.
Board Adopted Cell Phone High School Guidelines
The following cell phone guidelines were approved by the Board at the November 2023 Board Meeting. Many of our teachers already follow these guidelines regarding cell phones.
· Cell phones and smartwatches may be used respectfully and responsibly before school and after school.
· Cell phones and smartwatches should be set on silent mode and be kept in the designated storage area during class time (e.g. backpacks, cell phone caddy, or lockers), and should not be visible during instructional time unless directed by a teacher for instructional use. Cell phones should not be used for reward time or free time.
· Cell phones and smartwatches should not be utilized in any area of the building during class time. This includes hallways, offices, restrooms, locker rooms etc. Cell phones and smartwatches should remain in the designated storage area when students leave the classroom during class time.
· Cell phone and smartwatch use during common times (e.g. lunches and class change) will be determined by campus administration in collaboration with the campus Foundations Team.
· Cell phones and smartwatches should not be used to capture video, audio, or images at school or on the bus unless given permission by campus staff.
Please be sure to discuss these guidelines with your students as they will receive consequences if they are not following them. We appreciate your support with this.
Blankets
As the weather turns cooler, this is a reminder that students can not wear blankets while in the building. Any blankets brought to school should be placed in backpacks. If we have students that do not have coats or jackets, they may utilize the Communities in Schools programs on campus to help supply students with clothing needs.
Campus Deliveries
Just a reminder, we only allow deliveries from parents and family members. We can not accept food deliveries from food delivery companies such as Uber Eats, Grubhub, Doordash, etc. Please remind your student!

CHS9 Car Riders:
If you bring your student to school by vehicle, then please remember that the traffic loop in front of the Ninth Grade Campus contains two lanes. Vehicles can utilize the inside lane (left lane) to help alleviate traffic. When our duty personnel see students getting out of the vehicle from the left lane, we will stop traffic in the right lane allowing your student to cross safely. Please remind your student to check traffic before getting out of the vehicle. Parents, please continue to drive slowly and safely in the student drop-off area. We appreciate your attention to safety and patience every day.
