School Counselor's Office Information
Welcome Kindergarten Friends and families! My name is Melissa Wall and I am the School Counselor at LES. As the School Counselor, I have the privilege of working with all of our LES students to support their social, emotional and academic growth. My main goal is to promote a positive school climate so that your child feels safe, comfortable and accepted at school, and is therefore open to learning. We support this social-emotional learning goal through a school-wide program called Second Step, which gives our students skills to manage their emotions, make good decisions, and cope with every day social and academic challenges. I also deliver class-wide lessons which promote kindness and respect, as well as mindfulness; facilitate small group counseling to address concerns of anxiety, anger or friendship; as well as to provide short term supportive counseling to individual students in need.
As your child makes this transition to kindergarten, know that I am here to support your child (and you!) through this exciting change. I look forward to partnering with you for a successful year!
Have a wonderful summer!
Melissa Wall
