America Recycles Week
Oakview will celebrate America Recycles Week from November 9 - 13. For a complete listing of items being accepted, please see Oakview’s web site http://www.greenville.k12.sc.us/oakview/.
During this week only, Oakview will collect pairs of new and gently used shoes. Containers will be available outside the main, kindergarten, and bus entrances. All shoes, new and used, are accepted as long as they have no rips or tears. All shoes will be given to Shoes4Water who will then send them to Kenya where shoes and water are difficult to find. The funds from the sale of the shoes will then help the program dig wells and buy pumps and filtration equipment for the local people.

PTA President's Report - Celeste Blinston
What a great turnout for our annual Hootenanny last Friday night! The weather couldn't stop the Oakview Owls and their friends and families from having a blast and supporting their school in such a fun setting! The months of hard work from our cochairs Dawn Ridge, Katie Martin and Kim Alexander definitely paid off and for that I am ever so thankful! I know those that won the basket drawings are too :o)
The PTA helped with two great week long events during the last week of October and hopefully your children learned from and enjoyed them both! April McClure and Ginger Griffith organized Red Ribbon Week and the Book Fair was co-chaired by Kelly Long, Tammy Terry and Leslie Ferrel! A HUGE THANKS to them all!
This week we will be participating in America Recycles Week so be on the lookout for more information from our Environmental Chairperson, Holly Mannino.
As always, thank you for your commitment and generosity to Oakview PTA and our community and neighbors in South Carolina. Here's a lovely thank you note from the Principal of one of the schools that received donations from our Supply Drive last month. I appreciate you and I know each of our children benefit from your assistance! Please don't hesitate to contact me at cblinston@charter.net if I can answer any questions that you might have.
