Finley-Oates Elementary School

The mission of Finley-Oates Elementary School is to provide instruction and support to build a strong educational foundation, while promoting opportunities for all students to achieve their maximum academic, social, emotional, and physical potential.

School Hours:

• All classes begin at 7:40 am.
• Dismissal for Kindergarten and First Grade is 3:05 pm.
• Dismissal for Second and Third Grades is 3:15 pm.
• Anyone picking up a student before 2:50 must bring a valid government-issued photo ID (ex: driver's license).

Parents,

Please be considerate when dropping off or picking up your student by not parking in our marked Handicapped Parking spaces unless you have a valid tag or sticker.

• Parents may drop-off on the west side of the building, or go through the drive on the north side.
  
• Please do not drop students off at the front doors (east side). Parents must walk students in if entering from the front.

Learning to read and write is the most important fundamental skill for our students’ academic success. To ensure that students are progressing in their literacy development, the state of Texas requires that all students in kindergarten and first grade be screened for dyslexia. The initial screening will be done in a classroom setting with their homeroom teacher. The results of the screener will be sent home in the 3rd nine weeks report card.

The Finley-Oates and I. W. Evans PTOs would like to present the 4th Annual Daddy-Daughter Dance.

Tickets are on sale at both campuses, and are $10 per chaperone; students are free.

Refreshments will be served.

Students must attend either Finley-Oates or I. W. Evans.
