My dad has bees. I went to his house & he showed me all of the honey he had gotten from the hives. He took the lid off of a 5-gallon bucket full of honey & on top of the honey there were 3 little bees, struggling. They were covered in sticky honey. My dad scooped the bees out of the bucket. He put them in an empty container on a bench & left them to their fate. A little while later, my dad called me to show what was happening. These three little bees were surrounded by all of their sisters & they were cleaning the sticky nearly dead bees, helping them to get all of the honey off of their bodies. A short time later, the bees were gone. Those 3 little bees lived because they were surrounded by family & friends who refused to let them drown in their own stickiness. We could all learn a thing or two from these bees.

• Fishing River Watershed planning is currently focused on creating the Citizen Engagement component of project, creating a webpage on the City's website.
• WWTP 2nd digester is complete & startup was scheduled last Friday. Several funding sources made this project possible. CDBG Grant $750,000, Bond Revenue $300,000, ARPA Grant $125,000, CIP $225,000.
• Road & Bridge purchased crack sealing equipment for the city to use on asphalt streets to prolong the life of streets
• Parks/Rec is planning improvements to tennis courts in Regent Park to accommodate 3 pickle ball courts & changing the configuration of the skate park ramps as a refresh
• Earth Day Clean-up had 625 volunteers working 1.25 hours on Friday & 52 working 3 hours on Saturday, volunteer labor was valued at $28,000.
• Renderings of the Aquatics Park @ Community Center are now available.
• Prior to COVID, the Community Center membership had almost reached 6,000 members. During COVID, membership slipped to around 4500, this week, the 6,000th member signed on.
