The Year Marches On
Report cards will go home on March 15th.
Please set your child up for a successful day. Screen time before school is highly discouraged. Students have trouble transitioning into their day when they are on screens before school, especially in the carline. No screens in the morning saves everyone undue stress and extreme emotion.
In the event, your student is late, please be aware we will wait until announcements are finished before escorting students to their classrooms. We have announcements at 8:50. We are working on participating in the Pledge of Allegiance and the PAWS Pledge. Arriving by 8:45 is helpful.
We always send the kids outside with the outerwear they come to school with. As the weather warms, you may want to send your child in a sweatshirt or a lightweight jacket.
Enjoy all the changes the new season brings.

Welcome to Mrs. Thompson’s Counselor Corner for March
March brings us many opportunities to focus on Social and Emotional Learning. During the week of March 18th, our district will have our Celebration of Diversity with lots of activities to celebrate what makes us each special. We will also recognize International SEL Day and on we will Rock Our Socks for World Down Syndrome Day.
In addition, our weekly SEL (Social and Emotional Learning) lessons will continue throughout the month. The purpose of the weekly lessons is to further develop the students' self awareness, self management skills, relationship skills, social management skills, responsible decision making skills and their relationship skills.
The book list for the month includes: Diversity is a Superpower, This is the Way We Go to School by Edith Baer, The Big Umbrella by Amy June Bates, It Just Blooms by Deanna Chesley, Under my Hijab by Hena Khan, Be Who You Are by Todd Parr,This is My House by Arthur Dorros, Say Hello by Rachel Isadora, Whoever You Are by Mem Fox, The Kindest Red by Ibtihaj Muhammad, The Jazz Man by Karen Ehrhardt. If interested, you can often find the books listed on YouTube as read alouds. As always, please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
