Findley Art Lit
November and December in Art Literacy your student will be introduced to Gian Lorenzo Bernini, the Italian sculptor and architect (1598-1680). He is known as the greatest sculptor of the 17th century and is credited for creating the Baroque style of sculpture.
Findley students will be creating their own sculptural portrait, inspired by the detailed and dramatic marble sculptures of Bernini. Make sure to ask your child about their artistic process!

GIRLS ON THE RUN VOLUNTEER COACHES NEEDED!
Findley will have a Girls on the Run (GOTR) team this spring and we are in need of 6 volunteer coaches to make the season successful.
GOTR is a nonprofit organization that inspires girls to be joyful, healthy, and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. It’s a 10-week curriculum-based program for girls in 3rd-5th grade that combines training for a 5k running event with powerful lessons on confidence, teamwork, relationships, and leadership.
Coaches need to commit to the 10-week season and meeting twice a week for 90 minutes from March-May. You don’t need to be a runner or a competitive athlete! A successful coach only needs to have a desire to positively impact girls’ lives by helping them increase their self-confidence, develop healthy relationships and feel good about themselves. You’ll serve as a role model for girls by showing up prepared and on time, listening attentively, and by demonstrating a positive attitude.
