Greetings Lupine Families,

Welcome Fall!

October is one of my favorite months at Lupine because we get to watch these beautiful Maple trees turn from luscious green to vibrant orange.

This month we will be celebrating Unity Week which is a week of creatively engaging our students to build their understanding and develop the skills necessary to address and prevent bullying.

Garden Corner with Ms. Elizabeth,

Hi Everyone! We have had a delightful September in the Garden! Students were able to get reintroduced (or introduced) to the Garden, remembering how to respect the Garden and each other while learning in the Garden. Our orchard has been providing wonderful fruits that the whole school was able to enjoy.

Students helped amend and prepare beds for planting, planted fall vegetables and also planted a butterfly garden! We were able to learn about local butterflies and host plants. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the Garden Program, we appreciate everything! Looking forward to October in the Garden where students will learn more about Fall, Healthy Soil, Teamwork in the Garden, and continue to record our fall crop growth in the Garden via our Garden Records.

There will also be a Volunteer Work Day on October 15th from 9am-11am. Please come prepared to help clean up and prep the Garden for Winter. Some activities will include - sanding picnic benches, moving mulch, pulling weeds, installing roof sheeting on the pergola and hopefully starting to repair the Greenhouse so we can take classes inside the Greenhouse during winter. Please wear work clothes - long pants, closed toed shoes, hat, sunscreen and long sleeves are preferred. Ms. Elizabeth looks forward to meeting you all!
