Message from Mrs. Langford Collier Principal
November is the time of the year we focus on gratitutde. Being grateful in your daily life allows you to focus on the good and boosts mental health! We want to take time to share our gratitude for you! Collier is a special place thanks to you, our Collier community. We are grateful that you choose us and strive to make Collier better each day for your children.
Ways you can practice gratitude:
- Start a gratitude journal
- At dinner share what you are thankful for each day

- Leave a postive note for someone to find

OMA Gold News
There is so much going on in OMA at this time of the year -
All students will be working on their upcoming informances (informal, informational performances) this month.
Last month, artists from Arizona Opera performed Beauty and the Beast for our students. It was a wonderful experience for all. We also learned about murals, designed some murals, and met the muralist who has been commissioned to paint a mural for our school. This is an exciting project for us! Work on the mural will begin this month, and our students are thrilled to be able to watch a professional visual artist work on a long-term project.
Dancers from Rincon/University High Schools will be here to perform for our students on November 2nd, and we will have a string quintet from the Tucson Symphony Orchestra performing here on the 16th.
Some upcoming dates to remember (families are invited to attend):
Tuesday, December 12, 1:15-2:00
Kindergarten and 2nd grade dance, 1st grade musical theatre, 4th grade violins
Thursday, December 21, 9:00-9:30
Whole school Winter Concert
Don’t forget to ask your students what they are learning about in OMA, and to look for this month’s Featured Artists’ work in the main hallway!

For Students who Ride the Tucson Unified Bus
If your child rides the TUSD bus they are required to have their lanyard with their name and code with them when they get on the bus at home and at school! Please make sure that your child's lanyard is kept in a safe place, for example, with their backpack to ensure that they have them each day! This is an important part of keeping your children safe on the bus, this helps the drivers track which students are on the bus in case of an emergancy and also allows us to know when students are getting off the bus each day. Thank you for your support.
Track Grades 3rd - 5th
Grades 3rd - 5th Track will begin in January! To be eligible to participate your child must have a current physical on file in the Health office! If you need the forms you can stop by the office to pick them up!! More details will be coming soon!
