Hello Ivy Families,
It's been a great week here at Ivy Hill! Our students are becoming more and more familiar with the Ivy Hill Expectations and things are running smoothly!
We started our standardized MAP testing this week and the students did a great job. If you'd like to know more about the MAP tests, here is a link.
Please be sure that your child and their teacher know of their after school plans. Whether it be the CAP program, our bus service or a pick up by a parent/guardian; make sure they know where to go!
We know that the new "turf" outside the front doors looks great and is very enticing - especially for our younger friends, however, it is very dangerous for children to be up on the wall. Please don't allow your children to play up on the "turf triangles" outside the front doors. We appreciate your cooperation.
Please remember that "wearables" (smart watches, fitbits, trackers, etc.) are not allowed in our elementary schools. If you use a wearable to track your child's walk to/from school, please have them call/text you once they arrive at school then turn their wearable off and put it in their backpack. They can turn the wearable back on at 3:35. Again, we appreciate your cooperation.
As always - Stay safe, stay kind, and stay courageous!

Parent/Student Handbook Reminder
I also wanted to take a minute to remind everyone to read through the student handbook as it has a lot of important information. A couple of quick highlights I wanted to make you aware of are below:
The possession and use of cell phones and other electronic devices, including wearables, are subject to the following rules:
Elementary students are expected to leave electronics in the “off” position and in their backpacks throughout the school day.
Except as required in class or extracurricular programs, students cannot wear the following items in school:
Hats, hoods, helmets, or headgear (except as a religious observance or if medically necessary).
Sunglasses (unless medically necessitated)
I know this might be an adjustment for some students, so please remind your child that they will have to take off their “wearable” watch and hats off once they are at school. Our teachers will be reminding students of these expectations throughout the first weeks of school.
Thanks in advance for your cooperation!

BREAKFAST & LUNCH QUESTIONS
We have some new faces in our kitchen! Ms. Wisinski and Mrs. Hester are in charge of our food service this year. We will be serving breakfast and lunch daily to all of our students!
Breakfast will be served at 8:45 each morning - the cost is $1.75. If your child rides the bus, have them come directly to the commons when they arrive at school.
Lunch schedules change each week - Click Here for the menu. The cost for lunch is $3.25.
The easiest way to pay for breakfast and lunch to set up an account at MyMealTime.com. Call the office for your child's student ID number. You can also send cash. Please put the cash in an envelope with your child's name on it.
Download the Choosi app to help manage your child's account.
We’d love to hear from you!
