FES Knightly News
Weekly Family Newsletter
Week of January 28th-February 2nd
New and Important Information
Family/School Compact Feedback
Because Florence Elementary is a Title 1 school (click here for information on what that means), the school and the families are required to agree to follow terms laid out in a "compact". This compact establishes the rights and responsibilities of the parents, the students and the school. Click here to view our current Family-School Compact, which was sent home at the beginning of the year.
Each year, we encourage families to provide feedback on the compact as we look to revise it for the coming year. This is your opportunity to offer feedback on the development of next year's compact. Please click here to leave feedback.
This feedback will be reviewed as SBDM works to revise the compact over the next couple of months.
Spring Picture Day
Spring Picture Day will be on Tuesday, February 20th. Be on the lookout for order forms to come home with your child.

SBDM Update (UPDATED FROM LAST WEEK)
The School Based Decision Making Council at FES is made up of the principal (Ryan Burch), three teachers (Alicia Bachman, Abbigail Supe, and Megan Timmerding), and two parents (Alicia Coulter and Vee Miller). This group makes policy decisions and approves some of the school's financial and instructional activities. Meetings are usually held on the first Monday of each month at 4:15 in the FES library. Meetings are open to the public (except for occasional closed sessions).
The meeting on Monday, January 8th did not have enough members in attendance to make decisions. The meeting has been rescheduled for January 29th at 4:15 in the FES library. Click here for this month's agenda.
