Bonham High School Board Report

Spring time and all that comes with it are in full force with our staff, students and our campus. Our teachers are working diligently to continue their high expectations for students, while our students are working just as hard to receive their instruction, while also managing their own hectic schedules. Many of our students are involved across multiple activities and are doing well in all of them. This next week we will be administering our EOY MAP Growth testing to make our final assessment and corresponding push as we countdown to STAAR.

Our Warrior Fishing Team has been gathering steam and with this year's success, we are looking to increase our team member numbers by adding not only more of our current students, but also a few "fish" (incoming Freshman :) for next year. We currently are looking to field a team with at least 20 members next year!

Yesterday at District UIL Academics our BHS team had a phenomenal day!!! Look at all these district champions, district runner ups, regional qualifiers and regional alternates. Those advancing to regionals will compete in Tyler in April. We are SO PROUD of ALL of our students that competed and represented BHS!!! Congratulations BHS UIL ACADEMICS!!!!

Over the weekend 6 of our Purple Warriors competed in the Regional Powerlifting Meet in Decatur. Three earned medals and Junior, Justin McBride met the automatic state qualifier total of 1,500 pound to earn his spot at the state powerlifting meet in Abilene on March 24th. Congratulations to all these athlete, Coach Todd and Coach Dills.

The only thing more beautiful than our new field has been the way our Warrior Baseball and Lady Warrior Softball teams played this past Tuesday night picking up a pair of victories over the Tigers from Leonard by a combined margin of 35-0.

Prior to blowing out Leonard, our Warrior Baseball team treated fans to an exciting walk off victory against the Bells Panthers 2-1. Here is a video for your viewing pleasure!

Sarah is a Senior at Bonham High School. She leads her team in on base percentage, hits, doubles and has not struck out in 48 plate performances.

Our Culinary Arts and Cosmetology programs recently teamed up to treat some of our students from I.W. Evans to their very own spa day. Pictured below are a few happy faces that enjoyed being a part of our day.
