Greetings Parents,


This week, we are celebrating our teachers for National Teacher Appreciation Week. Normally, we acknowledge them for just being good teachers. This year, we can recognize them for being resilient, passionate, and strong during the pandemic. The past year has been a first for all of us; but our teachers have navigated the unprecedented challenges and continued to serve our school community with pride, grace, and empathy. Here's the link to the flyer with some ideas to recognize your child's teacher.


Campbell Cougars Read

  • This link has the topics 3rd-5th grade is focusing on in reading
  • Please have a discussion with your child on the genre and encourage them to read
  • If you would like resources, books, etc. for use at home, please reach out to Dr. Owens-Twaites, our literacy coach


Field Day

  • It will be 4 days: May 11th-14th
  • May 11th: PreK-1st, May 12th: 2nd & 3rd, May 13th: 4th & 5th, & May 14th Virtual Field Day
  • Remote learners will have field day virtually. They will not be allowed to report to school for field day.


Georgia Milestones Testing

  • Here's the schedule: Tuesday, May 4th & Wednesday, May 5th: Math pts. 1 & 2; Thursday, May 6th: Science (5th grade only)
  • Testing will begin promptly at 8:00, so have your child/children at school no later than 7:30 in order to eat breakfast and prepare for testing
  • Students who have opted out and are remote learners will have asynchronous assignments until around 11:00 each morning
  • Face-to-face opt out students will receive instruction while testing is occurring.


iReady & BAS

  • All students will take the iReady assessment in reading and math-it is used to provide actionable insight into student needs.
  • Students will also take the BAS (Benchmark Assessment System)-it is used to determine students' instructional and independent reading levels.
  • All 3 assessments help measure students' growth
  • Please encourage your child/children to do their best to show how much they have learned this year.


Rising 6th Graders

Renaissance Middle School has shared some important links for their rising 6th graders


Summer School
  • Summer school will be held at Campbell
  • There are 2 sessions (June 7-24) and (July 1-22) are both face-to-face
  • Please complete registration here
  • You can also notify the school and we can register your child

PTA Information

Congratulations to Nancy Sanchez, President and Kamchatka McCoy, Vice-President. They were elected at Tuesday's PTA meeting. We know these ladies will do a fabulous job!
