I'm reminded of a pivotal scene, on the evening of Harry’s 12th birthday, Hagrid went to pick up the boy to take him to Hogwarts so he could develop his skills as a wizard. The problem was that Harry did not know he was a wizard. Do you remember the scene? Hagrid said, “Harry, yer a wizard.” He was flooded with a blend of skepticism & possibility. Good news, you are also a wizard! Like Harry, you have a superpower in your choices. When you consistently make the smart choices, your impact will increase, & you can literally change your world. Finalizing ARPA grant applications due this week. We can apply for $5M in ARPA funds to water, sewer, storm projects each with 20% local match. Selected old transite water pipe & undersized water lines for replacement all over town based on lines identified in water model, demo old golf hill water tower & replace filter media & lime slaker at WTP; re-line sewer pipe in Wilson Estates, Forest Park, Lover's Lane & Golf Hill neighborhoods; terrace Dry Fork Fishing River between 143rd Street & old laundry site, assess box culverts all over town for replacement & demo failing wall in Fishing River near Hitch lot at risk of blocking channel during storm, worsen flooding. Transitioning to Travelers for property, liability & worker's compensation, working through setting up new protocols to process claims & identifying medical care providers for work injuries.

Capital Improvement will consider providing matching funds to grant applications for Water, Sewer, Storm & Bridge improvements

Historic Preservation Commission will hear COA applications for 420 Isley Blvd for paint, roof shingle replacement & storm door removal; 423 Benton & 208 Spring Street for paint; 420 Isley & 218 Spring Street-114 Marietta for various exterior alternations.

Council Work Session - discuss upcoming agenda items for Dangerous Dog Ordinance, EMS Collections, receive Pacer 2nd Quarter report, Community Center Phase II Bids, Navitas agreement for energy improvements @ Community Center, Cemetery Sexton Agreement, Airport & Cemeteries Farm Leases, Close-out CDBG Public Hearings for Miller & Digester, ADA Transition Plan & Grievance Policy & Appropriations
