Hello St. Michael- St. Clement Students and Families,

Firstly, I want to express my gratitude to all the families who took the time to complete the income survey. It is awesome to see that we achieved a completion rate of over 90%!

Secondly, we have received reports from the cafeteria regarding excessive food waste. I understand that there have been some last-minute changes to the menu in the past week, and that not all students may prefer the options provided. However, I kindly request that you ensure your students are aware of the meals being served. This way, if they do not wish to have school food, they can bring a home-packed lunch if possible.

Thirdly, I have some exciting news to share. We are currently in the process of redesigning our school logo. While we will still incorporate the current logo in certain aspects, we are creating two new logos that will be integrated in various ways, including on our spirit wear. As we are in the final stages of logo design and completion, there will be a slight delay in ordering spirit wear. Once the logos are finalized, we will promptly send them to our spirit wear company so they can incorporate them into new items.

Lastly, in addition to the new logos, we will also be launching a new website for our school. Although we are still in the early stages of this process, it is expected to progress swiftly. In the upcoming weeks, the company responsible for the website will be visiting to capture numerous photographs for the site. Rest assured, students whose parents have requested that their child not be photographed will not be included in any pictures on the website.

On a personal note, I am eagerly awaiting some baby news. I would like to express my gratitude to all those who have sent their well wishes and blessings as we anticipate the arrival of our third child. Thank you!

A reminder to all families that students have two options for lunch each day:

• To bring their own lunch from home.
• Order a hot lunch from the school cafeteria.

As stated in the Parent/Student Handbook on page 41:

"NO fast food lunches may be brought into school by parents or sent to school via a food delivery service (i.e. - Uber Eats, Door Dash)." Sodas are also NOT permitted.

The Archdiocese of Baltimore Child Nutrition Program mandates that if a student forgets to bring in a lunch to school or forgets to sign up for a hot lunch, a cheese sandwich and milk will be provided. Thank you for your cooperation!

St. Michael - St. Clement School is holding a food drive during the month of October for the food pantries in our pastorate (St. Michael the Archangel, Church of the Annunciation, and St. Clement Mary Hofbauer). We are collecting non-perishable food items. Donations may be brought into school and dropped off at either school office. Non-perishable food items include canned goods, dry pasta, peanut butter, beans, etc. If you have any questions, please call the school office.

Maryland Public Television is hosting an art contest for children ages 3 - 13. The rules are simple:

1. Choose an animal or insect to color, draw, or capture in a photograph.
2. Print on an 8.5 x 11 inch piece of paper
3. Scan or take a picture and email to: CorporateSupport@mpt.org or send it in the mail to: Maryland Public Television, Attn: Corporate Support, 11767 Owings Mills Blvd., Owings Mills, MD 21117.

Winners will receive one of 20 prizes:

• an assortment of prizes from Chick-fil-A
• an annual Family Membership to the B&O Railroad Museum
• an annual membership to MPT
• a children's prize pack from MPT and their photo and/or name on an MPT sponsor message congratulating drawing the winners. (Must have a picture of child submitted with parental permission to use on air.)

Our cafeteria staff works hard to ensure that each student receives the lunch that is listed on our calendar. However, sometimes menu items need to be changed due to item availability. We will do our best to notify families as soon as possible. The following changes have been made for the next two weeks:

Each lunch comes with a fruit, vegetable, and the option of either white or chocolate milk. If you have any questions, please call the school office. Thank you!

Help our school earn money simply by shopping at Weis Markets! If you have a Weis Club card and frequently shop at Weis Markets, all you need to do is:

• Go to www.weis4school.com
• Search for "St. Michael - St. Clement School" in the search bar.
• Link your Weis Club card to our school

And that's it! Each qualifying purchase you make when scanning your Weis Club card will help our school earn points that's then converted into money! It is super easy! If you have any questions about the program, you can call the school office or visit the customer service desk at any Weis Market.

PLEASE NOTE: If you selected to volunteer for the "Trunk or Treat" in the Family Service Agreement, you will ALSO need to complete the above form. Thank you!

We are coming to the end of our fantastic World's Finest Chocolate Sale! At the time of this posting, we have 710 boxes checked out with just 10 boxes remaining! Who would like to help us sell out of chocolate? Please contact Mrs. Kim Thayer (kthayer@stmstc.org) to request more.

This has been an amazing fundraiser! Our students rocked it once again this year! As a reminder - ALL MONEY IS DUE on MONDAY, OCTOBER 9th in order to qualify for prizes!

Get ready for the upcoming 2023 Ravens season because it's time to embrace Purple Fridays! We invite the entire school community to join us every Friday, unless there's a game scheduled on a Monday or Thursday, in which case we'll have a special Purple Day. Kindly follow these guidelines to make the most of this exciting tradition:

• Students are permitted to wear a Ravens Jersey, T-Shirt, Hoodie, or Jacket in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
• Students are permitted to wear a plain Purple T-Shirt or Hoodie in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
• Being good sports, if you are not a fan of the Ravens, another teams Jersey, Hoodie, or T-Shirt will be permitted in place of their school uniform polo/shirt.
• Everything else is Friday uniform as usual.

F. Paul Galeone Photographers will be on our campus on Monday, October 9th for individual school pictures of our students, faculty, and staff. Students are permitted to either dress in their full uniform or dress down in their "Sunday best." If students choose to dress out of uniform, please remember to follow all out-of-uniform guidelines listed in our Parent/Student Handbook on pgs. 50 & 51. Forms to order pictures were sent home earlier this week. All students will have their picture taken, however, if you would like to purchase pictures, an order form is required to be handed in that day. If you have any questions, please call the school office.

All club dues will be charged to the student's FACTS account on October 16th. Thank you!

We are excited to announce our first Movie Night this year! Bring a blanket and chairs and enjoy the movie, Elemental, under the stars in our school courtyard (weather permitting - rain location will be the school gym)! The movie will begin at 7:30PM, but feel free to come a little earlier to set up and enjoy some refreshments. All students attending must be accompanied by a parent. We hope to see you there!

Grandma's Attic is a popular rummage-type sale that is also part of our annual Christmas Bazaar. We are collecting toys, books, glassware, kitchenware, art, and home decorations. All items should be brought to the school office. Please NO clothing, hygiene supplies, broken or stained items.

We are in need of the following items for the Christmas Bazaar:

• Wine - Red, White, Sparkling, Woodbridge, Boordy Vineyards, etc.
• Bottles of various liquors (Bailey's, Smirnoff, Fireball, Captain Morgan, etc.)
• Large bags of chips/snacks (Doritos, Oreos, Utz, etc.)
• Soda (cans or bottles of Coke, Pepsi, Sprite, etc.)

***Items can be sent to the school office labeled "Bazaar Donation."***

We are in need of baked goods for the Christmas Bazaar! Both homemade and store bought are welcome! Please deliver all baked goods to the school office Tuesday, November 7th - Saturday, November 11th.

***Friday & Saturday deliveries can be brought directly to the school gym to be put on display!***

Bazaar Volunteer Sign-Ups are COMING! Please keep an eye out for the link! We can't wait to see everyone at the Christmas Bazaar - Friday, November 10th & Saturday, November 11th. Set-Up Begins on Saturday, November 4th!

Students will be required to be in complete uniform for the 2023-2024 school year. Uniform requirements and guidelines can be found in our Parent/Student Handbook, which were given out at our "Sneak-a-Peek" event, as well as, clicking the image to the right. All students must have updated immunizations on file, especially incoming Kindergarten & 7th grade students. Please make sure an updated immunization list is either uploaded onto your child's SchoolAdmin account or sent into our school nurse, Ms. Djuana Fair. You can scan it to her email (dfair@stmstc.org) or fax it to the school office at 410-663-9277.

Also, all medications for school need to have the Medication Form completed by your child's physician. This also included over-the-counter medications AND prescriptions. This form MUST be on file by the first day of school. Please click below for the form. Thank you!
