Scorpion Scoop
January 28, 2024
A Message from Principal Hann
Dear DEHS Parents and Students,
We welcomed over 400 families for our Scorpion Showcase this past week and are excited for them to become a part of our community. A special thanks to all who joined us to make this tradition a success! Congratulations to all of our athletes for another exciting week in sports at DE. They continue to demonstrate exceptional dedication and sportsmanship, while exhibiting the STING commitment. I am excited for our Fine Arts performances and CTSO competitions this spring as I have been visiting classrooms and seeing the exciting things they are creating and doing.
Our ParentVue system is now up and running, allowing parents and students to conveniently check grades and receive academic updates. We appreciate your patience during the temporary downtime and encourage you to take advantage of the restored functionality. We urge parents and students to actively use ParentVue to stay informed about grades and academic progress. The platform provides a seamless way to monitor academic standing and engage with teachers.
Our Edge Extension system is still down so we will do another week of class rotations for extra support during that period. The schedule will be as follows:
Monday 1/29: Report to 4th Hour
Tuesday 1/30: ADVISORY
Wednesday 1/31: NONE
Thursday 2/1: Report to 5th Hour
Friday 2/1: Report to 6th Hour
Finally, I would like to again remind everyone about the importance of punctuality. School starts promptly at 8:15 AM, and being on time sets a positive tone for the entire day. As a parent of a sophomore, I understand that mornings can be hectic, and sometimes a quick stop at a local coffee shop is part of the routine. While I encourage everyone to enjoy their morning rituals, I am asking for your support in ensuring our students arrive on time. Punctuality not only helps students make the most of their learning opportunities but also fosters a sense of responsibility and commitment. I appreciate your help to make each school day a productive and positive experience for your child.
I hope you all have a great week!
Gretchen Hann

In 2022, the Federal Department of Agriculture (FDA) requires a certified Food Protection Manager be present from start to finish when open food/beverage is being sold/offered on school campus. Along with a certified Food Protection Manager, any person(s) serving/providing open food/beverage must have a Food Handler's Card.
