Meet Theresa Sweeney, Staff Nurse
My name is Mrs. Theresa Sweeney, and I will be working as the staff nurse in the health office at Gayman. I have been a nurse for 15 years. In 2021 I became the nurse at Newtown Discovery Preschool. Prior to that I spent many years working with long term care patients and short-term rehabilitation patients. I look forward to getting to know your school community. MTSS STAR Assessment
Central Bucks School District is committed to ensuring that each child makes significant academic progress. To do this, we have been implementing a research-based process to link academic support with specific student learning needs. This process is known as a Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) and provides all students with timely and targeted instruction based upon the results of various assessment tools in reading and mathematics.
The Star Assessments by Renaissance, which were adopted by the district last year, are completed by students electronically in class. More information for parents is available on the Renaissance website at Parent's Guide - Star Assessments | Renaissance. As in the past with our prior assessments, you will be notified if your child is in need of intervention or enrichment supports.

Volunteering Information
To volunteer at a class party or chaperone a field trip, your clearances must be up-to-date.
If your clearances are current, upload them into the App Garden - Volunteer Tracker. If your clearances have expired, or you need to begin the clearance process, click on the Required Documents for the directions. Kids Care Club September
Did you know that kids who do volunteer work improve their teamwork and cooperation skills, develop deeper empathy and gratitude, and have a stronger sense of community?
That's why Gayman has its very own volunteer group: the Kids Care Club. Every month, we offer opportunities to help and give back, either at an after school event or through a project at home. Whether your child has been to every KCC meeting so far or is brand new to the school, we hope to see them at the first KCC meeting of the school year, on Wednesday, September 28th from 3:30 to 5pm. Homeroom Parent Volunteers
Today is the last day to submit your name for Homeroom Parent/Homeroom Assistant. To volunteer to be a Homeroom Parent click HERE. Volunteer clearances are required.
One Homeroom Parent and one Assistant will be selected at random for each class. Assignments will be announced on September 19th and an introductory meeting will be held on September 29th at 9am.
GHSA Family Dues
Welcome back to school! This school year, the Gayman Home and School Association (GHSA) will be continuing to use annual Family Dues to help supplement the cost of all the amazing experiences the GHSA helps bring to Gayman Elementary.
Some of the experiences your children will have the ability to participate in, with the help of the GHSA are: Popsicles on the Playground, Fall Festival, Bingo, Dance, Library Technology, Author’s Day, School Assemblies, Kids Care Club and the End of Year Picnic.
