This week OHS Junior Logan Smith has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Logan is a key member of the varsity football team, serving as an important leader on and off the field, according to Head Football Coach Jeremy Cordell.
"Logan is team captain this year," Cordell said. "He's an unbelievable athlete and leader on our team. He's a solid rock of leadership. He gives his all to the program, and his teammates, on a daily basis."
Logan, who is an offensive lineman for the Tigers, said he loves playing football especially with his friends.
"I just like going out there and playing with my friends and working hard," he said.
Congrats Logan!
This week OHS Senior Ashya Thompson has been selected as an Athlete of the Week! Ashya is an important leader on the varsity volleyball team, setting high expectations for herself and her teammates, according to Volleyball Head Coach Adeana Brewer.
"Ashya has done a tremendous job as a leader this summer and pre-season," Brewer said. "She demonstrates leadership qualities that any coach desires in a student-athlete and has a level of maturity that makes her a joy to coach. She leads by example by working extremely hard on the court, in the weight room, during conditioning and in the classroom."
Ashya, who plays middle for the Tigers, said she is ready for this season, especially after an injury cut her season short last year.
"The pressure to 'get everything right' this year is very high, but that is what makes it so exciting at the same time," Ashya said. "It taught me to never take any second on the court for granted and to enjoy every moment. This is also what fuels my energy and hype for my teammates, which I feel is a big part of my role in the front row."
Congrats Ashya!
This week OHS Senior Elliot Judy has been selected as Artist of the Week! Elliot plays guitar for the Pride of the Ozarks Marching Band, and is an important part of this year's show 'Weather the Storm', according to Band Director Tom Meyer.
"He's featured in our marching show this year as a soloist, and for the past two years he's been an all-state jazz guitar player," Meyer said. "He's such a hard worker and a great kid."
Congrats Elliot!
This week OHS Senior Madison Becraft has been selected as Tiger of the Week! Madison is a member of Ozark's JROTC program, specifically on the Raider Team. JROTC Instructor Chief Jason Allen said Madison is great with her teammates.
"Madison is the ultimate team player," Allen said. "Not only can she perform at the highest level as an individual, but she is great with her teammates."
Madison said she loves being a part of Ozark JROTC program.
"I love being a Raider because it challenges me and I love meeting and working with the other team members," she said.
Congrats Madison!
