Hello Barrington Families;
We are 4 weeks in and it is so exciting to see the progress that has already been made! Students are building classroom climate and culture, making new friends, getting reacquainted with old friends, and learning routines and expectations. The hustle and bustle is always so invigorating!
If you have not done so already, please be sure to complete the application for Free and Reduced Lunch. It is imperative that we have an accurate count of those families in need as this figure is one data point which impacts the amount of Federal grant money that the District receives. If you need an application, please reach out to the individual school buildings.
Feel that chill in the air? We all know what that means……… Winter weather is headed our way. Take a moment to ensure that your contact information is accurate and up to date in our student information system as well as in Pick up Patrol. We want to make sure that we can get in touch with you when needed.
Parents of 8th grade students:
You received communication from me this week in regards to high school selection and proving Barrington residency. Your child may not have selected a high school yet and that is ok! We do, however, need your residency affidavit and supporting documentation by January 26, 2024. This is a new practice for 8th grade this year and remember, this is required each year that your child is enrolled in high school. Given that we pay tuition to the three high schools that we send to (Dover, Oyster River, Coe Brown) for each enrolled student, we want to ensure that Barrington taxpayers are only paying for Barrington students. Thank you all for your prompt attention and cooperation in this matter.
Enjoy the weekend!
Respectfully,
Curriculum and Instruction
Hello Barrington Families!
Our new math programs, Reveal Math (K-5) and Ready Math (6-8) are underway! Our teachers have spent countless hours preparing and training for this math implementation and we are excited to have begun this journey together. The committee who worked together for the past two and a half years will continue to meet this year as we fully implement our new programming. The committee will look at math data and make instructional and structural decisions to continuously best serve our students. Both math programs are designed to assist students in meeting high academic standards and prepare them for future success through predictable unit and lesson routines. For further information regarding each math program, please see the links below.

Our first STEM Camp was a huge success this summer! All the students loved building, thinking, working in teams, and the culminating trip to the Boston Museum of Science. We all had a blast with your children and look forward to hosting another STEM Camp next summer. Check out the pictures below of our Campers!
Student Services
Greetings Barrington Families,
Welcome back to the school year! We have been thrilled to have our students return to our buildings and show such excitement for their new classmates, teachers and learning. Everyone has been working hard getting to know their students, developing schedules and into new routines. As the seasons are changing we are also starting to see growth within our students as well. I look forward to continuing to partner with you to best support your child in their educational path.
Happy Autumn,
With appreciation,

This month's focus is on Data Security and Privacy.
Online Registration
Accurate data is crucial to our Emergency Management Planning. Emergency contact information and up to date home address info is extremely important. This is a reminder to make sure you submit the updated online registration forms that were sent out in August. We cannot enable Parent Portal access to PowerSchool until we receive your updated registration information.
Online Content Filtering
Our online security system consists of a triple layered filtering system. In the past, when children brought their school issued devices home, one of those layers became inactive because it only worked inside of the school buildings. As of August 1, we have updated that security system so that even when children are accessing the internet at home, using their school issued devices, they will be fully protected by all three layers of security.
Learning systems privacy and terms of use
All of the systems that children access are being put through a vetting process prior to being allowed for use in the classroom. The Barrington School District is a member of the NH Data Privacy Alliance. This consortium of NH school districts aims to protect the privacy of student data by requiring vendors to sign a NH specific Data Privacy Agreement (NH DPA). This serves as a repository for NH school districts to find online learning systems that have the highest standard of data security.
Welcome back!
Facilities
Hello,
BMS: If you get a chance to check out the new carpeting with the new bulldog inlay at the bulldog entrance. We also have been able to get the fields ready for fall sports, along with fixing the cross country trail. We have trimmed trees, and welcomed back all of the kids and staff to the building. Nice to be back.
BES: We painted floors in restrooms. After getting everyone moved around everyone seems to be settling in nicely. We shampooed and got everything deep cleaned and waxed. We had a large Pine tree get hit by lightning. Eric Lenzi was able to cut it down and chip it with the help of the maintenance crew (this worked out great because some of the kids were doing a lesson on pushing and pulling). The kids had a lot of questions once everything was done.
ECLC: Things in the shed are squared away, the gutter system is working great. We have got the grounds looking good. We filled in some of the areas missing gravel from the heavy rains this summer. I would like to thank the custodial and maintenance staff for their hard work this summer to have a great kick off to the school year.
Best,
