Officer Gibson Reads Turkey Trouble
During a whole group reading lesson at Hilliard Elementary this week, Officer Gibson paid a visit to the students. She surprised them by reading the book "Turkey Trouble" and engaging them in discussions about the story. The students were encouraged to make predictions about the plot as the officer read aloud and they were eager to hear every word. Officer Gibson is a fantastic role model for the students and even brought treats for them after the reading session.

Mock Crusade
As part of their World History class, Mr. Raulerson's students at Hilliard Middle-Senior High took part in a mock crusade to learn about the Crusades. The students had to plan how to pack supplies and recreate the journey from Europe to Jerusalem, walking around campus to simulate the experience. During this activity, they utilized their map-reading skills and understood the motives and outcomes of those who made the trip. The students enjoyed this fun and interactive way of learning history.
