Healthy Skin Care Products
Find Out How To Easily Recognize Healthy Skin Care Products
Healthy skin care products are products which are genuinely beneficial for your skin. When you buy a cream or lotion for a specific purpose, you should not only think about whether you will get the desired results or not. You should also ask yourself what else the cream will be doing to your skin.
Everyone would love to have lovely youthful looking skin, and countless people spend a fortune on different creams and lotions in their battle to defy the natural aging process. Sadly, many of them are unknowingly encouraging premature aging.
The overwhelming majority of today's skin creams are laden with chemicals. If they are packed full of chemical additives, how can they possibly be good for your skin? Unless you are totally devoted to using all-natural products only, you will have to accept the fact that chemicals are going to be a part of your daily skin care regimen.

If you really can't switch to all-natural products, then you should at the very least try to avoid some of the more harmful industrial chemicals which are commonly used by skin care manufacturers, including nearly all of the big brand names. In the paragraphs that follow, I am going to briefly discuss a few ingredients which you really do not want to be putting on your skin.
Mineral Oil
Mineral oil is listed on the labels of virtually all creams and lotions, and most people automatically assume that it must obviously be good for their skin. In truth however, most of the mineral oil used in the cosmetics industry is simply a byproduct of the petroleum industry. This stuff is seriously bad for your skin.
Parabens
Parabens are a group of chemical preservatives which are widely used in the cosmetics industry. In fact, approximately 85% of all cosmetic products contain parabens which are added in order to prevent the growth of mould and fungus.
Even though the FDA and the WHO have maintained for years that parabens are not a threat to human health, many people are now concerned that this advice is incorrect. A prominent researcher actually recently discovered parabens present in cancerous breast tumors. There is no evidence to prove they caused the cancer, but it proves that they can be stored in the body, and nobody is really sure what sort of cumulative impact that might have on a person's health.
Siloxanes
You can tell if any of these are present in a product by studying the ingredients, looking for any chemical name ending with "siloxane" or "methicone." These are suspected endocrine disrupters, and a growing number of medical professionals now believe that they are also toxic to the reproductive system. They are also damaging to the environment since they are very harmful to wildlife, including fish.
Parfum
Parfum is a word that refers to any and all types of perfume used in the cosmetics industry. Other than natural scents, all perfumes can trigger allergies like asthma for example, and some are also considered to be neurotoxins.
I have only singled out four types of ingredients which you should definitely try to avoid. However, there are several others as well. Keep in mind that more than 82,000 different ingredients are used in this industry. One in eight of those contain industrial chemicals in one form or another.
