Message from the Principal
We hope that all is well with you. We have had a fantastic start to the school year, and look forward to even better things as homecoming week arrives next week.
Amazingly, the first trimester is 1/3 complete at this point, and mid-trimester grade reports will be available in two weeks. Skyward's Family Access provides up to the minute access on student progress, and parent-teacher conferences take place on Thursday, October 26. Please watch for more information as we near the 26th - but know that your son/daughter's teachers are only a phone call or email away at any point.
Please be sure to click on this link for a listing of homecoming week activities. Times and locations are indicated for all activities - including the Powder Puff football games on Wednesday and the homecoming parade on Friday. We hope to see everyone at these fun events.
Homecoming weekend concludes with the annual KEYS Run at 11:00 am on Sunday, October 8. Early registration ends on 10/1 - so sign up asap to join in the fun... and support the KEYS effort to raise money for KHS scholarships.
All 9th, 10th, and 11th grade students will be taking the Horizon Pre ACT assessment on Tuesday, October 24. This assessment is given locally to prepare students for the state-mandated ACT and Pre ACT Secure this spring. Please watch for details as the 24th nears, as administration of the test will necessitate a schedule change. All students in grades 9-11 are expected to attend and take the assessment. While there is no need to study specifically for the test, a sound night of sleep and healthy breakfast are encouraged:)
We look forward to seeing many of you at one or more of our homecoming week activities in the week ahead. As always, please contact us if we can be of further service.
Be well,
Scott Stier - KHS Principal

Attendance
- Did you know you can now send your attendance requests directly via your Skyward Family Access account? Select Attendance, from the menu on the right, click on Absence Requests and then Add Request next to your student's name. Complete the fields as necessary, and click on Save. Your request is forwarded directly to the attendance secretary, and you will a receive a confirmation email with the request details.
KSD Illness Mitigation Plan
- A recent change to the Kewaskum School District's Illness Mitigation Plan took place. The district will now accept either a positive COVID test from a testing site or a home test as a medical excuse for up to 5 days. A picture of the home test must be taken and emailed to your child's building principal to count as medically excused. In addition, if a home test is used, subsequent COVID absences within a 90-day period will require a doctor’s excuse or a positive test from a testing site in order to be medically excused. Please do not hesitate to reach out to your child's building principal or school nurse with any questions or concerns.
