Principal's Message
Greetings Springwater Students and Families,
Only 2 days left for seniors!!! I have spent the past several weeks conducting senior exit interviews: an opportunity for graduating seniors to share their post-secondary plans and provide feedback about STHS. Graduating seniors also reflect on their past 4 years: their challenges and their accomplishments. I look forward to these interviews each year and enjoy hearing students' reflections and plans for the future.
This week also marked the culmination of two wonderful projects in our school: a physics project in Physical Science and a storybook project in Creative Writing.
Veida Lekakh's Physical Science classes spent this semester examining houselessness and learning about physics concepts (including energy, forces, heat, pressure, light, sound, and more). The course culminated in a physics project where students demonstrated their learning through the creation of house models to address the housing crisis in this country. On Thursday they hosted Ms. Irannon's 5th grade class from Hogan Cedars Elementary School and shared their projects. During 7th period on Wednesday and Thursday, Ms. Kruse's Creative Writing students shared their short stories inspired from characters drawn by kindergarten students at Hogan Cedars. STHS students read their stories to the kindergarteners, who were able to see their character drawings come to life through fiction. Two wonderful examples of our partnership with Hogan Cedars.
Today we had our SpringFest! We feared the weather would remain rainy but things dried up for us in the afternoon. Students enjoyed a variety of games organized by leadership students, including a dunk tank where students had the opportunity to soak their teachers and a large inflatable obstacle course. We also had a Hawaiian Shave Ice truck cater the afternoon festivities. It was a great way to end our final ACCESS day of the year.
Next week marks our last week before finals. See below for the Finals schedule beginning the week of June 13th. Enjoy the weekend and, as always, reach out with questions or concerns as we navigate these final days of the school year.

I’m planning on going to Colorado State University. I’ve always wanted to be a veterinarian and so I’m going to get my Bachelor’s degree. After I graduate, I’m going to also get a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from there. I’ve been set on being a veterinarian since elementary school. I’ve always just l
oved animals.
Grade: 9
Interests: I like to hang out with friends most of the time, but for other interests, I also like reading, journaling, and skateboarding.
Favorite subject in school: I love language arts. I love to write. I love to journal and read. I’ve just been very interested in literature.
Favorite thing about STHS: It’s said a lot, but the small class sizes and the relationships you build here. It doesn’t matter who they are or what their past is, you just know you can have a connection with them either way.
Jonny Rush
Grade: 10
Interests: Basketball
Favorite subject in school: PE and English. In Mr. Ramsey’s class, basically all we do for the first half is talk and not do anything, which I enjoy that. In PE, we play games with the whole class.
Favorite thing about STHS: All the amazing teachers here. When you go ask them a question, they’ll help you out.
Macray Hull
Grade: 11
Interests: I enjoy music. I listen, play, and make music. I’m taking guitar lessons. I’m self-taught on the piano. I’m really into puzzling. I’m a really active person. I like running, biking, and sports.
Favorite subject in school: Definitely math. Math is one of my favorites. I don’t know why it’s my favorite. I think it’s because there is a right answer in math. There’s not really any choice.
Favorite thing about STHS: The all-school field trips are my favorite part. It’s a lot of fun to go to events with everyone you know from the school and not just a select amount of people from your class.
