Pleasant Knoll Middle School
Message from Mr. Young
I would like to thank all of our students, staff, parents, and community members for a wonderful year at Pleasant Knoll Middle School. We are so excited about all of the things that we have accomplished this school year.
A special thanks to all of our parents that volunteered, made copies, served on committees, donated, or did whatever is necessary to help our students be successful. A special thanks to our PTO for all of their support throughout the year. We would not be able to do what we do without their time, effort, and dedication.
We have an amazing faculty and staff at Pleasant Knoll Middle School. They give an endless amount of energy and care to our students each and everyday. I am so honored to work along side these people and be able to witness the commitment they have to all students. We have several staff members leaving us this year and I would like to thank them for their dedication to PKMS and we wish them the best of luck in their new endeavors.

Last but not least, I would like to thank our students for their tremendous grit and determination to be better each day. You work so hard at trying to learn and grow and we love watching your journey through middle school. To our departing 8th graders - best wishes and we look forward to seeing all of the great things you will do in high school and beyond.

Nurse's News
Just a few quick end of the year reminders from the Health Room:
Medications: Prescription and OTC
- Medication permission forms for prescription and OTC medications can be found on the FMSD website under Student Health Services (Form M-105). If your student has his/her yearly physical during the summer months and will need prescription medication available at school for the 2019-2020 school year, it would be advisable to take a form with you to the appointment for physician completion and signature. These are also the forms used for OTC medications, such as Advil or Tylenol, but OTC only requires a parent signature. (Please note: if your student takes an OTC medication containing aspirin, such as Excedrin, a physician signature will be required on the medication permission form.)
District policy regarding medications at school can be found in the student handbook and on the district website.
Medical Paperwork
If your student had medical paperwork on file in the Health Room this school year you should receive a packet for the 2019-2020 school year. These packets will come home with students within the last two weeks of school. Please complete these packets and return to the Health Room on or before the first day of school. Keep in mind that if your student requires medication at school or needs to carry an inhaler or epi pen, the appropriate paperwork needs to be completed by parent and physician per district policy.
Have a great summer!
