It is STEAM Literacy Month at PKMS, and we are excited to invite everyone to our STEAM Literacy Night on March 24th. We have will a variety of activities taking place, and we would love for our families to join us.

One major event that will take place at our STEAM Literacy event will be the conclusion of our Tiny House Challenge. Over the last three weeks, our students have created and presented their tiny houses that were designed for one character from I Will Always Write Back. Hallway winners have now been selected, and these groups are working hard to prepare their final designs for our community members.Throughout this challenge, we have been so impressed by our students’ architectural and interior design decisions, and we are proud of our students' work.

On top of that, we are excited to welcome Caitlin Alifirenka, the author of I Will Always Write Back, to Pleasant Knoll for this event! Make sure to swing by on March 24th.

ATTENTION: 6th GRADE STUDENTS AND PARENTS

Please make an appointment for your child to update their Tdap vaccination before next school year. ALL seventh graders will be REQUIRED to get the Tdap vaccine to protect them against whooping cough (pertussis). One (1) dose of Tdap vaccine (tetanus, diphtheria, and pertussis) administered on or after the 7th birthday will be required for all seventh graders. It is strongly recommended that adolescents who have not yet received a dose of Tdap vaccine be immunized in advance of this requirement. Students who are not up to date with their Tdap vaccination may not be allowed to attend school. For more information, please visit www.scdhec.gov/health/vaccinations

Please send a copy of the immunization record to the school nurse with the updated vaccination information.

Pleasant Knoll has a new club called Knighthawks Give Back. This club will be using the Coca-Cola Give program as its fundraiser. When you make Coca-Cola purchases, you simply enter the product codes here: coke.com/give/schools and our school receives a donation. The codes are printed on the inside of bottle caps and the cardboard on 12-packs (any Coke product). If you would like to send the codes in with your student, the club members will enter the codes for you. Just send to your child’s homeroom teacher and we will take care of the rest. All donations will be used to give back to our community. Thank you for your support!

Beta Club is collecting pop tops and need your help!! Please support our efforts by collecting these and turning them in to the containers throughout the school. This will be an ongoing project until May!! We are turning them in to support the Ronald McDonald houses.

Real time tutoring is available from 8:00 a.m. – 12:00 a.m. Sunday – Saturday for English and Spanish speakers with no appointment needed!

This service is available for all South Carolina residents of all ages.

The Fort Mill High Golf program will be having a 4 person captain’s choice fundraiser golf tournament on Thursday April 14 at 9:30 am at Tega Cay Golf Club.
