Carver's Weekly Update
Week of Monday, September 26, 2022
Please take a moment to look at some important reminders regarding our daily procedures at school.
- All students should be in class by 7:45 AM each day. Students are considered late if they are still in the car line at this time. The traffic cones will be placed in the car line at 7:40 AM. This is when the car line will officially be shut down. Please drop off car riders prior to this time. Students will receive referrals when they are tardy or late to class.
- Students should never be dropped off in the parking lot. It is too dangerous to allow children to walk in the parking lot without adult supervision. Parents who go to the parking lot in the mornings should park and walk their children to the crosswalk. Available parking space for parents may be found in the first row of the parking lot.
- Students will need to charge their chromebooks each night and bring their chromebooks to school daily. We have a limited supply for students to borrow during the school day.
- Students may have water bottles filled with water at school and in class(if allowed by the teacher). I'm asking that students refrain from bringing any other type of drink that could spill on the carpet (especially on the new carpet in the 5K and first grade classrooms) and create stains. Students may have juice or other drinks while in the cafeteria for breakfast or lunch only.
It has come to my attention that a select group of students are misbehaving on a few school buses almost daily. Bus drivers need to be able to focus while driving without any major distractions. Parents of bus riders, please take a moment to review the consequences for misbehaving on the bus with your children. A student may be denied the use of the school bus for misbehavior.
First Offense- Warning
Second Offense- Parent/guardian conferences required before riding the bus
Third Offense- 2 day bus suspension
Fourth Offense- 5 day bus suspension
Fifth Offense- 10 day bus suspension
Sixth Offense- Suspended from the bus for the remainder of the school year
Thank you for your continued support of Carver!

A Snapshot of STEAM Learning
The students in Mrs. Taylor's 5th grade class completed research on animals they wanted to learn about. Students collaborated to research and created presentations on their animals.
Mrs. Bessenger's Social Studies classes have been learning about the Boston Tea Party. Students completed a STEM Challenge to design and create a crate that would keep a tea bag dry in the cold Boston Harbor.
Mrs. Ward's students followed step by step directions and made their own apple pie. Then, students made delicious apple trees out of Ritz crackers, icing , pretzels, and M&Ms. They then taste tested their apple products. In addition, students made apple prints and headbands.
Mrs. Dorsey's students participated in Project Lead the Way activities....Jack's Beanstalk and the Three Little Pigs!
Skate Night was so much fun!!
