Absences, Late Arrivals, Early Pickups and End-of-the-Day Pickups

If your child(ren) will be gone or late, you MUST call the attendance line: 952-758-1405 (24/7) or main office line (after 8:00am): 952-758-1400, have your child bring a note to the office in the morning before or on the day you will be gone. If your child will be leaving early, have them bring a note to the office first thing in the morning to get a pass. Thank you!

Dear Families,


Thank you for your support in getting our school year off to a successful start! I have enjoyed visiting with the students each day. Here is some information regarding the upcoming Proud Tradition Promising Future 2023 Operating Referendum:


  • The New Prague Area Schools will place an Operating Referendum levy question on the Tuesday, November 7 ballot.

  • Early voting started on Friday, September 22 and continues up through November 6.

G.L.U.E. Crew

The G.L.U.E. Crew kicked off the school year with the first "get-to-know-you" activity with their 6th grade advisories. The G.L.U.E. Crew is a group of 7th and 8th grade students who will take time throughout the year to support and get to know 6th graders by showing positive leadership. The G.L.U.E. acronym stands for Guiding, Leading, Uniting, and Empowering. The second activity will take place the first week in October.

Homecoming Week

We had a fun week of dress-up days, the parade, pep fest and the 7th/8th grade activity night. The week ended well with a Trojan Football win over Rochester Century. Great job all week, New Prague Trojans!

National Custodian Appreciation Day

National Custodian Appreciation Day is October 2. On this day, we recognize the hard work that it takes to keep our public facilities in tip-top shape, as well as the people who diligently work, often at low wages, to make sure we have schools and workplaces that are spotless and sanitary. Thank you for all you do for us at the NPMS, custodians!

OFFICE CLOSED OVER MEA

The middle school office will be closed over MEA: October 19 and 20.

Food for Families

We are so thrilled to be able to bring back our Food for Families program for the year. New Prague Middle School believes in supporting children in all areas of development. NPMS is continuing to partner with the Peace Center of New Prague to provide additional resources for anyone in our school in need of food assistance with the backpack program we call Food for Families. At the end of each week, one backpack filled with food will be sent home per family. We are looking to start sending backpacks home with students around the middle of October. If your family would like to take part in Food for Families, or if you have any additional questions, please feel free to reach out to our school support services staff listed above. If at any point throughout the year your family situation changes, please contact us to discuss accessing this resource.

Minnwest Bank Outdoor Winter Clothing Drive

Minnwest Bank is once again having a outdoor winter clothing drive, and NPMS is one of the drop-off locations. Students and staff may bring gently used hats, coats, boots, snow pants, gloves and scarves to the middle school between Oct 2-23 and place them in the box on the table in front of the office. Thank you, in advance, for your generosity!

Infinite Campus Parent Portal

If you are unfamiliar with your Parent Portal and what you have access to, this will show you how to check your child's grades, view attendance, make lunch account payments, pay classroom fees, update contact information and install the Campus Parent Smartphone App.
