Homecoming Float House Needed for Class of 2025
"Homecoming Float House Needed! The Class of 2025 (next year's Juniors) is looking for a house to host our float parties this fall. Ideally the house would have a spot in the garage to store our float supplies (usually one spot) and also a driveway or yard area that posters can be painted on. Float parties begin in August and will continue into September. They are held 1-3 times per week, twice during the week and once on the weekend. If you are interested in finding out more information, please contact Mrs. Kendra Caralis at caralik@gpschools.org. Thank you!!"

SUMMER OFFERINGS
Journalism Workshop at Michigan State
Good morning!
I would like to offer your student the opportunity to attend one of the best journalism camps in the nation. This year, MIPA’s Summer Journalism Workshop (journalism camp at Michigan State) is from July 23-27, 2023.
The Michigan Interscholastic Press Association’s summer workshop is a five day, all-inclusive workshop that will help define your student’s journalism skills. Students are able to select a class of their choice and delve into the specific content area with the top instructors in the nation.
In addition to all that your student will learn at camp, your student will be better prepared for newspaper, yearbook or photo staff, plus going to an academic summer camp looks great on resumes when applying for colleges.
Please take a look at the link for camp, Sponsorme campaigns, and the link for scholarship opportunities is below. Please note scholarship applications are due by May 31. I am ready to help your student with one of their letters of recommendation. (Just have them ask me sooner than later). Sponsorme is a great way for you to start fundraising for camp now.
In the past I have taught at the camp and served as assistant director. I will be teaching a beginning adviser course for educators this summer. I assure you this is one of the best opportunities I can offer for your student's interest in journalism. Every year I send on average 20-30 journalists and I would be pleased to take your student. Please contact me with any questions.
And don’t forget to save the date for this summer. (July 23-27)
Kaitlin Edgerton
