Mrs. Walker's Weekly Update
Thank you to all those who donated supplies for Pizza Themed Learning Day!
Halloween is quickly approaching, so to help families prepare for activities at school we put together some quick information for you to use.
1. Students may wear costumes to school. Please be sure that your child is prepared for the unpredictable Idaho weather.
2. Students cannot wear inflatable costumes to school or for the Halloween parties in their classrooms.
3. Costume parts such as masks, weapons, and heavy make-up are not allowed at school or for their parties.
4. Halloween parties are organzied by classroom with a room parent in charge. If you have questions regarding the class's Halloween party, please contact your child's teacher who will help you get in touch with those who are organizing the party.
Upcoming Events
October 27th- bring $0.25 to school and wear a hat all day!
October 31st- Halloween Concert at 9:00 in the gym. Halloween Class Party 9:30-10:30.
What We're Learning
Spelling/Reading- we will be reviewing all the letters, sounds, and tricky words that we have learned so far. Our schedule is off a little bit with the weekly focus due to the teacher work days at the beginning of the month, so we will start Skills 2 on Wednesday. I will send home 2 Weekly Focus papers home on Monday for extra practice. It will have some ideas for Skills 1 Review and the beginning of Skill 2 lessons 1-5. Skills 2 is all about long vowels.
Math- We will finish up Module 18 Time to the Hour and Half-Hour on Monday. We will test on Wednesday and then we will start Module 9 Place Value.
Language Arts- We will finish Knowledge 2 The Human Body this week. We have learned about the skeletal system, muscular system, digestive system, and circulatory system. We will cover the food pyramid next week. We will have our Knowledge test on the following Monday.
Monday-
Tuesday- Tricky Words assessment, specials
Wednesday- Module 18 Clocks assessment
Thursday-
Friday- late start Friday
