VanWeekly
February 22, 2018
Hi Vanguardians!!
How is it possible that February is over in 7 days!! This month has just flown by for me. Tanis and I have been working all day on Vanguard Supports and Events. We hope you find this VanWeekly extremely informative. To make it worth your while, complete the VanWeekly Info Check for bonus #VanPoints.
Please make sure you are finishing up coaching check 2. Turn in COACHING CHECK 2 by FEB 28. Here is a reminder of the COACHING EXPECTATIONS. New Members, you should be working on the onboarding course.
I have been impressed with all the great ideas from the mini-grants. The review process is all most over! If you applied, keep an eye on your email over the next week for more information.

Do you have any students up for a design challenge?
Can you help design something with Tinkercad?
Then we need you!
We are interested in having something 3D printed and need your help. We will supply the filament we just need the help designing and printing.

Did you know the Notes app on your Apple Device does more than just provide you a place to take notes? Notes actually lets you collect all your words, images, videos, links, lists, locations, and more, all in one place and sync them across your Apple devices. Join your fellow Vanguardians at the Lenox Apple Store to learn how to collect everything into one amazing note!
Microsoft Teams for STUDENTS Training- Feb. 27,28, and March 1
Microsoft Teams (Office 365 app) has been enabled for students. This is really exciting news! Teams is an ideal way for teachers to create collaborative classrooms. This tool allows teachers and students to have conversations, share files, manage/submit assignments, and participate in online meetings through Skype. The possibilities are endless on how this resource can help teachers personalize learning for students. Mindy Ramon in Instructional Technology is hosting 30-minute information sessions to help teachers learn more. See the schedule below.
Please click the link to join the meeting. You may be prompted to install the Skype for Business web app.

New Member Corner
Please continue to monitor your points earned this semester at https://goo.gl/aWPZ3n. Take a minute, click through, and take a look at the column headers. All of the assignments and point values for the rest of the semester are now posted. I’ve also labeled certain assignments as optional. Just to be clear, everything not marked optional is, well, required.
All remaining content will be published to the iTunes U course over the next couple weeks, and next week’s assignment will be published tomorrow. I’ll make an announcement in Teams when it’s available. We have six weeks remaining before Spring Break, and the expectation is that you will all complete the course before then. For those of you eager for additional points, you will be able to earn 20 bonus points for completing an additional full coaching cycle with your coachee after Spring Break. Details on that to come later.
There will be one more new member call in March focused on coaching Q&A. If you have questions in the mean time, please post them to the new member Team so everyone can benefit from the answers.
Thanks, and keep up the good work!
