Show Your School Spirit: 100th Day
What a strange January we have had in Preschool! We did get a little snow to explore before the rains came. In January and February, we are exploring our being healthy unit. We are learning to be healthy by drinking lots of water, eating healthy foods, keeping our bodies clean, exercising, and getting lots of good sleep. We are learning about germs and the best ways to keep them away. We have taken good care of the baby dolls in our classroom, played in the doctor clinic, and shopped in the grocery store. We have made slime and explored new ways to move our bodies. We are also playing lots of board games.
Do you know a child who will be 4 years old by Sept. 1, 2024? We are beginning the process for registration for next fall. Connections Preschool gives children an opportunity to interact with other children in fun, engaging activities while learning important skills. The curriculum supports young children in developing skills in the following areas: creativity and the arts, language and literacy, mathematical and scientific thinking, physical and motor, and social and emotional. Children in Connections Preschool assume increasing personal responsibility and independence as they grow and develop. Program requirements and information:
- Families must live in District 196 boundaries.
- Children must meet age requirements as of September 1, 2024 for 3- and 4-year-olds, and November 1, 2024 for Preschool Discovery.
- Concurrent enrollment in Connections Preschool and other state and/or district funded programs cannot be accommodated (ex. Head Start or Family School).
- Connections Preschool is a collaboration with our district's Early Childhood Special Education program.
- Tuition assistance and scholarships are available for families with identified needs.
If you would like to be notified when registration opens for the fall or for more information, please visit the website at: http://www.district196.org/preschool or contact Kathy Adams at Kathy.adams@district196.org if you have questions.
