BES Parent Update

Week of February 5th

X-Plore with Good Things

Last week we shared how engaging students is the first core component of Capturing Kids' Hearts and one way we engage is with greetings. This week we introduce the next component which is X-Plore. One major way we X-Plore our students interests and check-in with them is through Good Things.

Good Things is a 3-5 minute daily activity which has multiple intentions:

To show interest in the students
To set a positive tone for the class
Teachers the leadership skill of positive thinking
Provides a routine opportunity to listen, attend, ask questions and convey empathy.

Good things is used in classrooms and specials. We use it in staff meetings. We even added a building display to recognize Good Things building wide. Sometimes Good Things are big and sometimes they might seem small, but if it's important to them it's always worth knowing.

What's for Lunch?

Monday - Chicken Alfredo, broccoli, peaches, roll

Tuesday - Nachos, corn, fruit cocktail

Wednesday - Butter Chicken, rice, sir fry, mandarin oranges, garlic knot

Thursday - Country Fried Steak, mashed potato, country gravy, pears, rolls

Subject to change for snow days, deliveries or product availability. Changes are communicated through district texts.

Parent BES Celebrations

ACCESS Testing is Finished!

We were super excited to celebrate our students who finished ACCESS testing during the Thursday afternoon recess. Students enjoyed a dance party with jams from DJ Wilhoit and the bubble machine added to the chaos.
